XXXTentacion Fears Extortion From Girl He Hit in Video

  /  03.29.2018

Earlier this week, a video of XXXTentacion hitting a girl in the face surfaced online. Now, the controversial rapper’s camp claims to fear extortion due to the clip’s release.

Sources say that XXXTentacion and the young lady in question made the video as a joke when they were both 15, according to TMZ. They say that she initially agreed to come forward about that. However, she later backed out.

Insiders claim that her grandparents called XXXTentacion’s legal team to ask how they can “make everything good.” They believe the family was after money, according to the report.

However, the alleged victim has a different story. “For those who are questioning why I didn’t come forth earlier,” she wrote on Instagram Stories. “[It] was because I was terrified for my life. Imagine someone doing that to u unprovoked.? At 16? Let alone the people he associated himself w/? … I would still be holding on to this secret if it wasn’t leaked.”

XXXTentacion’s lawyer Jaclyn Broudy also addressed the statement. “This ‘terrified’ woman decides to post this video now, conveniently, when [XXX] becomes famous,” she said. “Draw your own conclusions.”

The rapper is currently awaiting trial on several charges for allegedly beating his then-pregnant girlfriend in a separate case. But his career hasn’t halted due to controversy. In fact, his sophomore album ? debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 this month.
