Rihanna Is the Most Certified Artist in RIAA Digital Songs History

  /  04.01.2018

Rihanna celebrates a major milestone.

The Recording Industry Association of America has declared RiRi the No. 1 most certified artist for Digital Songs of all time with 124 million certified units.

Bad Gal rejoiced with a message to fans. “I’m grateful for this honor,” she said. “Thank you God, and thank you to my fans and supporters for holding me down and propelling me forward throughout the years! @RIAA thank you for always acknowledging us music peeps!! One Love always.”

Rihanna’s rewards keep raining down. This month alone, she earned new certifications for “Stay” (7x platinum), “Love on the Brain” (3x platinum), and “Desperado” (platinum).

RiRi’s 124 million certified units make her the most awarded artist in the Digital Songs section of the chart. Taylor Swift (108.5 million) and Eminem (107.5 million) trail behind her, while Katy Perry (98 million) and Justin Bieber (68.5 million) round out the top five.

Her reign extends beyond music. After taking over fashion with Fenty x Puma and cosmetics with Fenty Beauty, she’s reportedly also getting into the lingerie business. Her new line is scheduled to debut soon.

Movies are also part of the equation. RiRi will star in this summer’s Ocean’s 8, which will also feature Sandra Bullock, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, and more.

But she hasn’t forgotten about music. H.E.R. recently revealed that the singers have collaborated on “secret projects,” which could appear on the follow-up to 2016’s ANTI.
