New Music: Jaden Smith feat. Will Smith & Nicky Jam - 'Icon (Remix)'
Jaden Smith calls on a true “Icon” living, his famous father for the official remix to his gold-certified single.
Over the reggaeton beat, Nicky Jam kicks things off with some bilingual rhymes followed by Jaden’s spitfire verse. For his part, Big Willie plays up the “Icon” theme and even references his famous wife Jada.
“Boy, you know why you was an icon living?” raps Will. “You was born from an icon living / Messed around and married me an icon living / Tequila, then we made some icon children / You was raised in an icon village / Worked hard and raised the icon ceiling / One day I’ma hand you all the icon billing / And bounce, I’ma be an icon chillin’.”
In February, the “Fresh Prince” celebrated his son’s 100 million streams with a parody of the “Icon” video, which went viral. He can also be heard alongside Nicky Jam on “Live It Up,” the official song of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
“Icon” is a single off Jaden’s debut album SYRE. The 19-year-old MSFT is now readying the follow-up ERYS, due later this year.
