New Music: Tinashe - 'Like I Used To'
While her dating life has been making headlines recently, Tinashe uses it as inspiration on her new song “Like I Used To,” her first release since April’s Joyride.
On the Hitmaka production, the R&B songstress sings about an ex lover, much like her former beau, NBA star Ben Simmons. The couple broke up after dating briefly.
“Never be the same, won’t trust you like I used to,” she sings. “I gave up all my love but you abused it / Now you’re just something I check off my to-do list.”
After getting her heart broken (Simmons is currently in a relationship with Kendall Jenner), she has moved on. “I had to let go,” she adds. “I gotta pass on you.”
In April, Tinashe released her long-awaited sophomore album Joyride, featuring appearances from French Montana, Ty Dolla $ign, Future, and Little Dragon.
