Rap-Up TV: ScHoolboy Q Reveals Why 50 Cent Is Not on ‘Oxymoron’

Those anticipating a ScHoolboy Q and 50 Cent collaboration will have to wait. The TDE rapper has confirmed that 50 does not appear on Oxymoron.

The rumors started after the G-Unit mogul announced that he would be featured on Q’s album. “I’m on school boy Q album,” he wrote on Instagram last week.

But Q cleared up the rumors once and for all. “He’s not on my album, but I would have loved for him to be on my album,” he told Rap-Up TV at a listening session for Oxymoron in L.A. on Monday night.

“We did a record. I know what record he’s talking about, but that didn’t make the album,” explained Q. “I wish he was on my album though. Like that’s 50 Cent, c’mon now. He’s the reason I’m really rapping. But I never even had the files to that record.”

Another rapper you won’t find on Oxymoron is J. Cole. “J. Cole did a record that I cut, but it didn’t fit my album,” said the Black Hippy.

However, you can expect to find contributions from 2 Chainz, Tyler, the Creator, Kurupt, Jay Rock, SZA, and Pharrell, who produced “Los Awesome.”

Fat Joe and 50 Cent

Fat Joe and 50 Cent are leaving the beef behind. The former rap rivals join forces on DJ Kay Slay’s brand new song “Free Again” off the Drama King’s upcoming album Rhyme or Die. Instead of taking shots at each other, the New York MCs exchange friendly fire over the StreetRunner-produced record.

“It’s an anthem when I rant / Fuck you think I am Kanye / I had them wearing vests, now these ni**as wear dresses,” raps Fif, who plans to release his new project Animal Ambition early this year.

The two previously shared the stage at the 2012 BET Hip-Hop Awards during a tribute to their late manager Chris Lighty.

50 Cent

While 50 Cent remained quiet on the music front in 2013, he caps off the year with something new. The hip-hop mogul appears in the remix video for SZA’s single “Teen Spirit.”

50 co-signed the TDE songstress, tweeting, “new artist SZA is on her way TDE got another one. DAMN LOL.”

His album Street King Immortal does not have a release date, but the G-Unit chief has been working on a new body of work for release in January. He told The Huffington Post that it’s more than a mixtape and includes all original material “inspired in a whole other direction.”
