Some of his peers and friends in the industry including Chris Brown, Snoop Dogg, and Jermaine Dupri took a trip down memory lane with the Cash Money rapper during the episode. His mentor J.D., who made on on-air appearance, recounted the first time he saw Bow rapping on stage when he was known as Lil Gangsta, and Snoop shared why he gave him his name. “He was named Lil Bow Wow because his spirit was just like mine,” explained Snoop in a videotaped message. “He was like the equivalent of me. I didn’t have no kids at the time, so to me, he embellished everything that I imagined my son would be.” Chris Brown recalled meeting his BFF on the “Scream” tour six years ago. “[He's] one of the only people I can consider my friend in the industry… He’s a real person,” said Chris. “He deals with day-to-day problems just like me. Me and him have more of an understanding of life from being normal and in the spotlight. We can indentify with having to deal with those types of pressures. Now the 24-year-old rapper explains why he decided to push his Cash Money debut back, blaming himself and not his label. In an open letter to his fans, he says that touring and shooting his Ice Cube-produced sitcom have contributed to the delay. He wants to take more time to perfect things before releasing what he calls his best album yet. “Underrated is a classic. This is my best work,” writes Bow Wow, who is trying to get India.Arie to sing on the song “Boy or Girl.” “Its taking so long because im putting my all into it.” He also shot down a report by TMZ saying that he owes the government over $91,000 in unpaid taxes from 2006. “TMZ saying they are about to runa story on me thats once again ‘Not True’ as im sitting in my beautiful condo as of RIGHT NOW that they said i dont have anymore,” he says. In the behind-the-scenes images shot by Derick G., the 24-year-old rapper hid behind a spiked leather face mask, picked up the guitar, and posed with leather and chain-clad models. During last night’s concert at Cleveland Browns Stadium, he brought out hometown boys Machine Gun Kelly and Chip Tha Ripper. After joining in a prayer circle, the Cash Money rapper and Bad Boy signee performed “Wild Boy.” “When I go to people’s cities, I just like to spread love,” said Bow, who will release his album Underrated on December 6. “We all from the same state, we all rockin’ together.” MGK added, “That was so humbling. @BowWow just brought me and @chip216 out for our first time on stage together right here in Cleveland.
