The stars put on their finest and stepped out to Alicia Keys’ 11th Annual Black Ball at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York on Thursday. A pregnant Alicia, whose second child is due in December, was the belle of the ball as she hosted the fundraiser alongside her husband Swizz Beatz and Diddy.
Swizz, Diddy, and Kanye West took the stage to honor Givenchy’s artistic director Riccardo Tisci, while Nas, Angel Haze, and David Byrne performed.
“We’re here to roll up our sleeves for the children and families living with HIV in India and Africa,” said Puff. “We need the money!”
Alicia, Swizz, and Diddy performed a mash-up of Diana Ross’ “I’m Coming Out” and “Mo Money Mo Problems,” Angel Haze covered OneRepublic’s “Counting Stars,” and Nas put the crowd in a New York state of mind.
Madonna, Aretha Franklin, and Russell Simmons also showed up to support Keep a Child Alive, which has raised over $22.6 million for children and families affected by HIV.
The Weeknd brought his “King of the Fall” tour to the Hollywood Bowl on Thursday. Following performances from Jhené Aiko and ScHoolboy Q (who was joined by Tinashe and BJ the Chicago Kid), the Canadian crooner performed a 90-minute set under the stars, capping it all off with a dazzling fireworks display.
The stars also came out in droves to support XO. Kanye West, Diddy, and French Montana were all spotted backstage at the Bowl. ‘Ye posed for a pic with Wale, while Ne-Yo praised the Toronto singer.
“Shouts to the vessel @abelxo Dope energy, hella cool,” he tweeted, while possibly teasing a collaboration on his upcoming album. “#NONFICTION great things to come. #JustWaitOnIt.”
French also kicked it with his ex-girlfriend Khloe’s sister Kendall Jenner, and Katt Williams even made a rare appearance.
The Weeknd will close out the tour on Saturday at San Francisco’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.
Jennifer Lopez even has her exes mesmerized by the size of it. They may no longer be together, but Diddy is still a fan of his former girlfriend’s voluptuous booty in her new video featuring Iggy Azalea.
“Oh my God, oh my God! I am so lucky to have that great woman in my history,” said Puff while watching the “Booty” video during his appearance on “Access Hollywood Live.” “She is one of the greatest I’ve ever seen. Go girl!”
But while he loves her “Booty,” he’s not looking to rekindle their romance. “Oh no, no. We’re great as friends. I’m great as a fan,” said Puff, who is currently dating Cassie.
“[J.Lo's booty] is great. It’s a work of art. It’s something that will go down in history. Also her talent, her drive, her determination,” he added. “She will never give up. She’s a great friend of mine…that thing is just incredible.”
When asked if Kim Kardashian’s butt compares to J.Lo’s, Diddy responded, “No way!”
The Game stands up to intolerance and racism on the Ferguson anthem “Don’t Shoot,” dedicated to the memory of Mike Brown. The Compton MC brings together the hip-hop community including Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, Diddy, Fabolous, Wale, DJ Khaled, Swizz Beatz, Yo Gotti, Curren$y, Problem, King Pharaoh, and TGT.
The protest song includes powerful verses and a call to action: “Time to take a stand and save our future like we all got shot.”
Game explained how the collaboration came together. “I managed to get everyone on fairly easy, simply because we have hearts,” he said. “We care and are inclined to take a positive approach to resolving an issue that has existed since the beginning of mankind and that’s racism and hatred towards one another as human beings.”
The song is now available on iTunes, with all proceeds benefitting the Justice for Mike Brown charity.
The stars gathered in Ibiza, Spain to celebrate Riccardo Tisci’s 40th birthday on Friday. Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Ciara, Justin Bieber, Diddy, and Cassie toasted the Givenchy creative director at the lavish affair.
Ciara stepped out for the first time since giving birth to her son Future in May, rocking head-to-toe Givenchy, gold jewelry, and long hair down to her back.
“Happy Birthday To My Brother and Friend King Tisci @riccardotisci17!! So Excited 2 Celebrate This Night With You!” tweeted CiCi.
Bieber cozied up to Kendall Jenner and even put the moves on her mother. “@kendalljenner @kyliejenner who’s your daddy,” he joked while posing with his arms around Kris Jenner.
With a giant disco ball towering over his head, Kanye entertained the fashionable crowd with hits including “Black Skinhead,” “All of the Lights,” and “Ni**as in Paris,” and praised the designer.
“Me and Virgil and Don would see your work and think, ‘This is the dude that’s in Paris that’s making shit that the ‘hood can relate to,’” ‘Ye told Tisci.
Supermodels Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss serenaded the birthday boy with “Happy Birthday” as he was presented with a four-tier white cake.
Yung Berg is getting his hustle on. The Grammy-nominated producer-songwriter, who has worked with artists including Lil Wayne, Tamar Braxton, and Ray J, is cooking up hits for megastars including Rihanna, Diddy, and Nicki Minaj, who he calls one of his best friends in the industry.
“The Pink Print is the female Blueprint,” Berg aka Hit Maka! told Rap-Up TV. “Jay Z put out the Blueprint. I think The Pink Print really personifies that, and not only that, I’m really involved in it.”
When asked what we can expect, he said, “You just gotta look out for greatness. It’s gonna be crazy.”
The album will be a true representation of who Nicki is. “I think she gave you guys a really great example with ‘Pills N Potions,’” he said. “It has rap in it, it has singing, but at the same token, it’s really just more about Nicki being Nicki. I really feel like she’s coming from the heart with this joint.”
When asked if Drake will be on the album, he said, “I wouldn’t put it past her. You gotta look out for some Drake records. Hopefully, I’m a part of that.”
He also penned a song called “All Night” for Rihanna, which was produced by Nic Nac (Chris Brown’s “Loyal”). “Me and Nic Nac went in,” he said. “It’s about being down all night.”
Additionally, he has been in the studio A&Ring Puff Daddy’s upcoming album Money Making Mitch.
Hol’ up, hol’ up. Puff Daddy, Meek Mill, and French Montana make plenty of noise in the Eif Rivera-directed video for their Dream Team remix to Wiz Khalifa’s “We Dem Boyz.” From the club to the hotel, the fellas pop champagne and party poolside with bikini-clad babes.
Watch them set off the 4th of July weekend with a bang.
