Drake Reps the Raptors in ‘We the North’ Commercial

Drake

North side stand up. Drake puts on for his team, the Toronto Raptors, in a new commercial for their #WeTheNorth series. The Canadian rapper, who is the team’s global ambassador, narrates the one-minute clip, which features shots of the Toronto skyline and Raptors players.

“In many ways we are in a league of our own,” says Drake, who will host the 2014 ESPYs in July. “We are the North side. A territory all our own. If that makes us outsiders, we’re in.”

The Raptors, who are currently the No. 3 team in the East, will take on the Brooklyn Nets in Saturday’s playoff game at Air Canada Centre.

Jhené Aiko Brings Out Drake at Coachella

Jhené Aiko lived out one of her dreams, performing for the first time at Coachella on Sunday. The L.A. songstress was joined by some famous friends as she capped off the first weekend of the festival in the desert.

Backed by her suit-clad band and a string quartet, she opened her late-night set with “Bed Peace,” on which she was joined by Childish Gambino. She continued with more cuts off her Sail Out EP including “The Worst” and “Stay Ready,” plus covers of Tupac’s “Keep Ya Head Up” and Erykah Badu’s “On & On.”

The crowd went wild when Jhené’s “musical soulmate” Drake hit the stage for a surprise performance of “From Time,” their duet off his latest album Nothing Was the Same. The tourmates shared a warm embrace and some words.

“This is my first time at Coachella, by the way,” Drake told festivalgoers. “So I want to let you know that it’s a motherfuckin’ honor to be here with you tonight, and you better make some noise for Jhené one more time.”

Drake Goes in Disguise for Jimmy Kimmel’s ‘I Witness News’

Drake

Social media has not always been kind to Drake, but what would happen if he met his critics face-to-face? The Toronto rapper set out to see what people really thought of him, teaming up with “Jimmy Kimmel Live” for his own version of “Lie Witness News.”

After donning a disguise of a wig, beard, and glasses, the host of this year’s ESPYs went undercover as a reporter on Hollywood Blvd., asking pedestrians what they thought about him. The responses ranged from downright mean to hilarious.

One kid didn’t even realize Drake was interviewing him until he removed the disguise, and his reaction was priceless.

See Drizzy face his critics head-on in “I Witness News.”

Drake and Rihanna Cozy Up Courtside at Clippers Game

Drake and Rihanna

After celebrating Melissa Forde’s birthday at Supperclub, Drake and Rihanna stepped out to the Los Angeles Clippers vs. Oklahoma City Thunder game at Staples Center in L.A. on Wednesday night.

The couple was seated separately—RiRi grabbed a courtside seat next to her BFF Melissa, while Drake cheered on the Clippers from his own seat. But they couldn’t stay away from each other for long.

When the lights dimmed, Rihanna went over to Drake’s seat and they shared an intimate moment, hugging and kissing in front of the public.

After announcing that he would host this year’s ESPYs, Drake stopped by ESPN earlier in the day, where he addressed the social media uproar over his shirt at the NCAA Championship Game on Monday.

While it looked like he was supporting the UConn Huskies, Drake was actually wearing a James Young Kentucky Wildcats shirt. “The James Young logo looks like a U,” he explained. “I was not wearing a UConn shirt. I am about the institution when it comes to college. I support my Wildcats.”
