Met Gala 2014: Beyoncé & Jay Z, Rihanna, Kanye West & Kim Kardashian, Frank Ocean, Rita Ora, Solange

Jay Z and Beyoncé

From Frank Ocean to Rihanna, the stars dressed up and showed out at the 2014 Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on Monday. This year’s dress code was white tie, inspired by British fashion designer Charles James known as “America’s First Couturier.”

Before they walk down the aisle this month, Vogue cover stars Kanye West and Kim Kardashian walked the red carpet in Lanvin.

“On the Run” couple Jay Z and Beyoncé got decked out in Givenchy and held hands as they made their royal entrance.

Rihanna wowed in a white midriff-baring Stella McCartney show-stopper with her hair pinned up.

Performer Frank Ocean was dapper in a white tuxedo, Solange traded her natural hair for a short bob and a 3.1 Phillip Lim dress, Rita Ora was a golden goddess in Donna Karan Atelier, and Janelle Monáe electrified in Tadashi Shoji.

Givenchy muse Erykah Badu rocked the carpet in a top hat and white coat, while fashion killas A$AP Rocky and Chanel Iman cozied up in couture.

Future Performs ‘I Won’ and ‘Honest’ on ‘Arsenio’

Future

Future got Honest with “Arsenio” on Monday. The Atlanta rapper performed a mash-up of “I Won” and the title track off his sophomore album, and sat down for his first late-night interview.

He spoke about being called the “voice of hip-hop today” by The New York Times (“That’s major”), his many nicknames, his relationship with the Dungeon Family, and his fiancé Ciara.

The couple has chosen a name for their son, but he didn’t reveal it. He did, however, reveal her cravings for cereal.

He also said that “Move That Dope” is his favorite song on Honest, which is expected to debut at No. 3, selling 45-50,000 copies in its first week.

Future Talks Drake, Nicki Minaj, & André 3000 in CRWN Interview

Future

With his album Honest in stores, Future sat down with Elliott Wilson in his hometown of Atlanta earlier this week for his CRWN interview series. The self-proclaimed “king of turn up” discussed everything from his relationship with fiancée Ciara to his many collaborators including Kanye West and Nicki Minaj, who he worked with on “Rockstar Life.”

While the record didn’t make his album because George Michael did not approve the sample, he still wants to release it in the future, possibly on the Freeband Gang compilation.

He also revealed how he inspired Drake’s “Started From the Bottom” and how they mended their issues to collaborate on “Never Satisfied.” “It’s bigger than that for me. It’s always been about the music,” said Future.

He once again addressed the confusion surrounding Beyoncé’s “Drunk in Love.” He was in the studio with Detail, who asked him to help out with the record, which inspired his Honest outtake “Good Morning.” He planned to put that on his album in November, but Beyoncé beat him to it and released her surprise album in December.

“It was already pre-wrote and I started doing the melodies,” said Future. “We did the record eight months before she put it out.”

Plus, he shed light on his “Benz Friendz (Watchutola)” collaboration with André 3000 and what it was like for him to share the stage with OutKast at Coachella. “Dancing around and just performing with my favorite group of all time, it was unreal,” said Future.

Future and André 3000

Fresh off the OutKast reunion, a solo André 3000 reconnects with his Dungeon Family partner Future on “Benz Friendz (Whatchutola),” a cut off the latter’s album Honest, due Tuesday. The Atlanta rappers go back and forth, venting about a girl who’s only interested in the materialistic things.

“I told that bitch I don’t give a fu*k about a Benz, bitch / And I don’t want no bitch who need to have that kind of friendship,” spits Three Stacks over the bouncy beat.

They performed the song for the first time during OutKast’s reunion at Coachella over the weekend.

Honest, which is now available to stream, also features collaborations with Kanye West, Drake, and Lil Wayne.
