It took supermodels in lingerie to bring Jay-Z and Dr. Dre together at the 2009 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show at The Armory in New York City on Thursday (Nov. 19). The Black Eyed Peas performed while Heidi Klum, Chanel Iman, and Selita Ebanks strutted down the runway.

Stars including Fergie, Keri Hilson, Adrienne Bailon, Jay Sean, and Tyrese then migrated to M2 Ultra Lounge for the after-party.

The annual show airs December 1 at 10 p.m. EST on CBS.

On Friday, Lil Wayne, Common, and Flo Rida witnessed the Miami Heat defeat the Denver Nuggets at the American Airlines Arena in Miami. Later that weekend, Jay-Z was courtside as the L.A. Lakers took on the New Orleans Hornets at the Staples Center, only minutes before his show at UCLA.

Teen sensation Miley Cyrus, who name-checks Jay-Z in her hit “Party in the U.S.A.,” was asked what Jay-Z song she was referring to when she sings, “And the Jay-Z song was on.”

“Honestly, I picked that song ’cause I needed something to go with my clothing line,” the 16-year-old revealed. “I didn’t write it. I didn’t even expect it to be popular originally.”

Cyrus shocked the interviewer when she said she had never even heard a song by the rapper. “I’ve never heard a Jay-Z song. I don’t listen to pop music and it’s not even my style of music.” Say what?!

Jay-Z is on to the next one. After stopping overseas, Jay returned home to perform “Empire State of Mind” at the Yankees World Series victory parade in NYC on Friday (Nov. 6). Mayor Bloomberg introduced the honorary Mayor of New York.

“His song has become one of the newest anthems of the Yankees,” Bloomberg told the hometown crowd. “Here with Bridget Kelly, please welcome a great Yankee fan and a great New Yorker, Jay-Z.”
