Jay-Z Meets Up with Kanye West in SoHo

It was all love when Jay-Z ran into Kanye West on the streets of New York City on Monday. Mr. Carter was getting out of his Maybach when Kanye spotted him and rushed over. Yeezy was fresh from Paris where he’s been recording his new album. The longtime friends shared a hug as photographers captured the moment.

Earlier in the day, Yeezy was seen shopping with his pregnant girlfriend Kim Kardashian, who is due to give birth in June.

According to Page Six, Kanye has been booked as musical guest on the May 18 episode of “SNL.” However, a rep for NBC would not confirm the rumor.

New Music: Jay-Z – ’100$ Bill’ [Snippet]

Mr. Carter joins the Mrs. on the soundtrack to The Great Gatsby. In addition to executive producing the film and soundtrack, the Roc Nation mogul has contributed the crisp new track “100$ Bill.”

Over a chopped and screwed beat, Hov mints some monumental rhymes, calling himself the new Marvin, Malcolm, and Kennedy.

The Great Gatsby stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, and Tobey Maguire, and hits theaters nationwide on May 10.

Jay-Z Cheers On Brooklyn Nets at Playoff Game

He may have sold his ownership stake in the team, but Jay-Z will be a Nets fan forever. Days after relinquishing his investment, the hip-hop mogul was spotted courtside at the Nets vs. Chicago Bulls playoff game at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Saturday.

Wearing a black Hooligans sweatshirt, gold chain, and backwards Nets hat, he cheered for his home team alongside Roc Nation executive Ty Ty.

After bringing the Nets to Brooklyn, Jay-Z was forced to sell his stake in the team so that he could pursue his latest venture, Roc Nation Sports, which signed New York Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano as their first client.

“My job as an owner is over but as a fan it has just begun,” he wrote in an open letter on his website.

Jay-Z Relinquishes Ownership Stake in Brooklyn Nets

Jay-Z helped bring the Nets to Brooklyn, but he must now leave them behind. In a letter posted on his website Life+Times, the hip-hop mogul confirmed that he has sold his ownership stake in the sports team, but remains a Nets fan forever.

“It was never about an investment; it was about the NETS and Brooklyn. My job as an owner is over but as a fan it has just begun,” wrote Jay, who still plans to attend the games.

He was forced to sell his investment in the team so that he could pursue his latest venture, Roc Nation Sports, which signed New York Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano as their first client.

“For Roc Nation Sports to function at its full potential, NBA rules stipulate that I relinquish my ownership in the Brooklyn Nets,” said Jay.

New Music: Jay-Z – ‘Open Letter’

Ya’ll gon’ learn today. Fresh from his trip to Cuba, Jay-Z surprises with a new song, which he premiered on Hot 97 this morning. The hip-hop icon teams with super-producers Swizz Beatz and Timbaland on “Open Letter.”

Hov doesn’t hold back, addressing recent hot topics including his controversial trip to Cuba with Beyoncé (“Boy from the ‘hood, but got White House clearance”), his ownership stake in the Brooklyn Nets (“I still own the building, I’m still keeping my seats”), his new deal with Universal Music (“Got an onion from Universal, read it and weep”), and more.

“We almost wanna start a revolution/ You know whenever I’m threatened, I start shootin’,” raps Mr. Carter. “The world’s under new management, the new role model, fuck the Zoolander shit.”

Swizz explained how the collaboration came together. “[Beyoncé] came in the studio and Just Blaze came in the studio and this thing just extended to another level,” he told Hot 97. “The whole thing started with me making a track in Jay’s office, and it just led to ‘Open Letter’ and people learning about things today.”

Bridget Kelly Celebrates Birthday with Jay-Z, Rita Ora, and Melanie Fiona

The Roc was in the building as Bridget Kelly celebrated her 27th birthday at the 40/40 Club in New York City last night. Friends and family came out to party with the “Special Delivery” singer, including her boss Jay-Z, mother, and fellow Roc girls Rita Ora and Melanie Fiona. Trey Songz, Adrienne Bailon, Timbaland, and Ne-Yo sipped D’USSE cocktails and snacked on red velvet cake.

“Love my boo ritaora too much fun last night,” tweeted Bridget, who posed for a photo with her labelmate.

Bridget’s debut is due later this year featuring Shea Taylor, Jerry Wonda, Ne-Yo, The-Dream, and Kendrick Lamar, who appears on the single “Street Dreamin.’”
