The stars came out to salute Jermaine Dupri, Ne-Yo, and Mike WiLL Made-It during the 27th Annual ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards at the Beverly Hilton on Thursday night.

Following previous recipients Alicia Keys, Jay Z, and Pharrell, Ne-Yo was honored with the ASCAP Golden Note Award. The R&B hitmaker received a star-studded musical tribute from Mario, who performed his Ne-Yo-penned No. 1 single “Let Me Love You,” while Jennifer Hudson serenaded him with “Spotlight” and “Why Is It So Hard.”

“I’m back in the studio,” Ne-Yo told the crowd while accepting the award. “I got some more songs to write, I got some more music to put out there. I’ma make myself worthy of this.”

Mike WiLL Made-It received Songwriter of the Year for his plethora of hits including “Bandz a Make Her Dance,” “Pour It Up,” “Bugatti,” and “Body Party.” Rae Sremmurd, the duo signed to his label Eardrumma, treated the crowd to a performance of their hit “No Flex Zone.”

Jermaine Dupri was honored with the biggest award of the evening, the ASCAP Founders Award. Bow Wow aka Shad Moss kicked off the tribute with a performance of “I Think They Like Me” before Usher took the stage to honor his mentor with “Confessions.”

“Next time they say this award, they gotta say Quincy Jones, Berry Gordy, and Jermaine Dupri,” said J.D., who joins a prestigious list of past honorees.

Video: Jennifer Hudson f/ Timbaland – ‘Walk It Out’

Jennifer Hudson

Jennifer Hudson plays hard to get in the video for her Timbaland-produced single “Walk It Out.” Shot in New York, the X-directed clip follows the Oscar winner (who goes by J-Hud in this video) through the streets.

When one guy tries to holler at her, she keeps it moving, but he doesn’t give up easily. She runs into him at the park and on her way home, where eventually she gives in. She visits the beauty salon and busts out some choreography with her girls. Plus, look for cameos from Timbaland and her husband David Otunga.

Hudson’s third album is due later this summer featuring contributions from Pharrell Williams, Babyface, and R. Kelly.

Get to steppin’ with J-Hud.

Jennifer Hudson, Azealia Banks Perform at L.A. PRIDE Festival

Jennifer Hudson

Jennifer Hudson and Azealia Banks celebrated gay pride at the 2014 L.A. PRIDE Festival in West Hollywood on Saturday. The ladies performed in the park as part of the weekend-long festivities.

The Harlem rapper slayed the stage in a superhero-inspired outfit and white Air Force Ones, performing hits including “Yung Rapunxel,” “ATM Jam,” “212,” and a cover of Robin S.’ “Show Me Love” as confetti fell from the sky.

“I had such a good time at Pride today! The crowd showed me so much love I couldn’t even take it,” tweeted Banks.

She also apologized for her previous offensive comments. “I sincerely want to apologize to anyone who was hurt by the things I’ve said in the past,” she said. “I won’t go into it but you KNOW what I’m talking about. It wasn’t nice and it wasn’t fair. . . I hope the entire LGBTQ community will forgive me.”

Showing off her svelte figure in a little black dress, J-Hud closed out the evening with a dazzling set. The powerhouse diva—and her scantily-clad male dancers—strut across the stage while belting out “I Can’t Describe (The Way I Feel),” “Pocketbook,” and “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going.”

The ladies of Danity Kane will cap off the festival with a show tonight.

Past PRIDE performers have included Ciara, Lil’ Kim, and Kelly Rowland.
