Kanye West presented his latest work of art to the public and press at Milk Studios in New York on Monday night. The star-studded crowd including Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Timbaland, Busta Rhymes, Q-Tip, and DJ Khaled gathered at a loading dock in the rain to hear West play each track and speak out about his secretive sixth album.

With a little over a week to go until Yeezus arrives, Kanye West headlined the Governors Ball in New York on Sunday. G.O.O.D. Music’s chief, who celebrated his 36th birthday with Beyoncé and Jay-Z over the weekend, closed out the three-day festival with a dark 90-minute set. In addition to his familiar hits like “All Falls Down” and “Good Life,” he played five new songs off his upcoming sixth album, due June 18.

He opened with “Black Skinhead” and “New Slaves,” both songs which he debuted on “SNL” last month. He also staged a rousing performance of “I Am a God” and another new song, reportedly called “On Site.”

“When I listen to radio, that ain’t what I want to be anymore,” ‘Ye told the crowd during one of his now-typical rants. “I don’t really give a fuck about outside opinions!”

There was no shortage of star power at Kanye West’s 36th birthday bash in New York on Saturday night. Mr. West’s famous friends gathered to toast him at the private celebration at Jamaican restaurant Miss Lily’s.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z held court in one corner, while illusionist David Blaine posed for a photo with Scott Disick. Fresh off the stage at the Governors Ball, Nas also joined the party.

“Yeezus x Hov x Godson …. The 3 Gods. Happy Birthday to my brotha Kanye!” tweeted Nas.

Kanye’s baby mama Kim Kardashian also sent him a heartfelt message on Twitter. “Happy Birthday to my best friend, the ❤of my life, my soul!!!! I love you beyond words!” tweeted Kim.

Kanye’s sixth album Yeezus arrives on June 18. He is set to perform tonight at the Governors Ball in New York.

Hear ‘Ye, hear ‘Ye. Kanye West has unveiled the official cover for his sixth album Yeezus. A blank CD appears behind a clear plastic case with a piece of red duct tape attached to the side and the title scrawled out in Sharpie.

Kim Kardashian and members of Yeezy’s crew previously tweeted photos of a different cover that appeared to have a melted Jesus piece and the red tape.

When you mouse over the cover on KanyeWest.com, you can hear 13 seconds of a new song reportedly titled “Bound.” (If you can’t access the site, listen to the audio below.)

The packaging was designed by DONDA, Kanye’s creative company, which also did the art for 2 Chainz’ Based on a T.R.U. Story and Lil Wayne’s I Am Not a Human Being II.

There will reportedly be no pre-orders in advance of the June 18 street date. Kanye debuted his new Frank Ocean-assisted song “New Slaves” via projection screens across the world and performed new material for the first time on “SNL” earlier this month.

The last two days have been full of surprises for Kanye West fans. Following the worldwide debut of “New Slaves” and his performance on “SNL,” Mr. West has unveiled what appears to be the artwork for his sixth solo album Yeezus, available June 18.

The unconventional cover looks like a melted gold object, possibly a Jesus piece. A piece of red duct tape is stuck to the side, with the title “Yeezus” handwritten with a Sharpie. The black-and-white CD shows behind the clear jewel case. The image was posted on ‘Ye’s official site along with a pre-order link, but it was later removed.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye’s manager Don C. also posted a photo of the CD on their Instagram accounts.

A day after premiering “New Slaves” in cities across the world, Kanye West closed out the season of “Saturday Night Live” with a bang, performing new material from his upcoming album Yeezus, due June 18.

For his first performance of the evening, the G.O.O.D. Music chief channeled his inner rock star in a leather studded jacket while debuting a socially-charged song called “Black Skinhead” (view the lyrics here and here).

He returned later in the show, wearing a black scoop-neck shirt, to perform “New Slaves,” which he debuted via projection screens on buildings across the globe. The studio version of the song features Frank Ocean.
