It was ladies’ night as ELLE celebrated Women in Music at its 4th annual event in New York on Wednesday. The intimate evening featured performances from Kelly Rowland, Martha Wainwright, and Rita Ora, who graces the magazine’s cover alongside Adele and Alicia Keys.
Rita hit the red carpet in a floppy black hat and dress by YSL, Kelly kept it casual in leggings and a white top, and Bridget Kelly was pretty in purple.
“Such a great night partying w/ @ElleMagazine at the Women in Music event!” tweeted Kelly, who was joined by her friends Jessica White and La La Anthony.
Rita took the stage to perform and was later seen dancing with fellow Roc girl Bridget as Kelly sang her hits.
Kelly Rowland was back in the hot seat during her visit to Power 105′s “The Breakfast Club” on Friday. In addition to getting hit on by Charlamagne, the “Kisses Down Low” singer spoke about topics ranging from oral sex to her new album to a Destiny’s Child reunion.
“I am in love with this album,” said Kelly of Talk a Good Game, due in June. The project features production from T-Minus, Boi-1da, Pharrell, Kevin Cossom, Mike WiLL Made It, and The-Dream, who she may tour with.

While in Atlanta recording her new album, Kelly Rowland paid a visit to DJ Drama on Shade 45. The R&B diva spoke about her new music, collaborating with Wiz Khalifa, and getting hit on by Jamie Foxx during the Oscars pre-show.
She defended Beyoncé’s “Bow Down” against the critics and revealed that she has heard B’s upcoming album, which she calls “ridiculous.”
While she hasn’t spoken to her “Motivation” collaborator Lil Wayne since his health scare, she did wish him well. “I want him to get some rest,” said Kelly.
She once again nixed rumors of a Destiny’s Child reunion tour (“We haven’t talked about that”), but did share details about her own album Talk a Good Game, which includes production from Pharrell, T-Minus, Boi-1da, Rico Love, and more.
Wiz Khalifa had a busy week since returning to work. After shooting three videos with Cassie (“Paradise”), Tyga (“Molly”), and Problem (“Bout Me”), the Taylor Gang leader capped things off with a performance on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.”
Decked out in a tank top, shorts, and Chucks, Wiz was joined by Akon for a performance of his new single “Let It Go,” for which the video debuted this week.
The proud new papa, who welcomed his son Sebastian last month, even changed the lyrics to the song. “I just had a kid, now homie I’m the man,” he rapped.
After his performance, he hit the studio with Amber Rose, Pharrell, Akon, and Kelly Rowland.
“DId a song wit Kelly today. Shit came out pure,” tweeted Wiz. “Fucc Man. She was in Destiny’s Child!!! Im On :-)”
Kelly Rowland comes out to play in the fun and flirty video for her latest single “Kisses Down Low.” The Destiny’s Child diva models many different looks—from pinup girl to Marilyn Monroe to red head as she struts her stuff against the colorful backdrops.
“I’m so excited about this video. The theme is fun and flirty and pinup,” said Kelly of the Colin Tilley-directed clip. “The makeup is poppin’, the hair is poppin’, the styling is so cool, but it feels just really flirty. I wanted to bring that out of the song instead of making it as racy.”
The bedroom banger, produced by Mike WiLL Made It and written by Rock City, will appear on Kelly’s upcoming fourth album Talk a Good Game.
Music and fashion once again converged at BET’s 9th annual “Rip the Runway” at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on Wednesday. Models strut down the catwalk in the hottest designer threads as some of hip-hop and R&B’s most stylish stars provided the soundtrack.
