Keyshia Cole Takes Over ’106 & Park’

Keyshia Cole

Following Nicki Minaj’s appearance on Monday, Keyshia Cole took over “106 & Park” on Tuesday. The “Enough of No Love” singer stopped by to promote her new album Woman to Woman. She shared what she’s learned about the industry (“Trust less”) and gave props to Jay-Z and Beyoncé.

“As a man to respect his woman in that way, I think it’s huge,” Keysh said of the famous couple. “Everybody’s trying too hard to be gangsta, I’m hard, and I gotta put on this persona in front of my dudes, but if you a real man, you respect your lady regardless.”

She reminisced on some of her red carpet looks and her first encounter with Tupac. “He came in the studio all crunk and loud. He just had a star aura about him,” said Keyshia of the late rap icon.

Her husband Daniel Gibson also called in to discuss their Thanksgiving plans and reality show, “Keyshia & Daniel: Family First.”

New Music: Keyshia Cole f/ Ashanti – ‘Woman to Woman’

Keyshia Cole and Ashanti

Keyshia Cole and Ashanti keep it real on “Woman to Woman,” the title track off Keyshia’s fifth album, available Monday. The ladies sing about a man who they are both having a relationship with, but instead of fighting about it, they are able to sit down and work through the situation.

“It’s her point of view against my point of view in a hypothetical scenario,” Keyshia told ThisIs50.

“I appreciate her realness and the gutterness that she brings to the table,” she said of her collaborator. “I know she gets really glammed up, but she’s still gutter. Her songwriting skills are off the chain, so I definitely wanted to incorporate that from a different woman’s point of view.”
