Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, 50 Cent, & Pharrell Kick Off New York Fashion Week

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2015 kicked off with a bang on Friday. Although she missed the presentation, Rihanna still made a grand entrance at Adam Selman’s runway show. Wearing an off-white baby doll dress and pearls, the fashionista snapped several flirty photos with the designer backstage.

When asked about the passing of Joan Rivers, RiRi told a paparazzo, “It’s very sad, actually.”

Nicki Minaj, who was in town to perform at CBS’ “Fashion Rocks” on Tuesday, turned heads in Marc Jacobs at Harper’s Bazaar‘s toast to Icons at The Plaza Hotel.

The stylish soirée also brought out Miguel and Lady Gaga, who looked sexy and classy while performing some jazzy tunes.

Fresh from the NFL kickoff game, Pharrell Williams showcased his G-Star Raw for the Oceans collection, which uses Pharrell’s Bionic Yarn textile company to turn plastic debris from the ocean into yarn and fabric.

50 Cent also joined the Fashion Week festivities, kicking it with Rev. Al Sharpton at Russell Simmons’s Argyleculture runway show.

Video: Miguel – ‘Simple Things’

It’s all about the “Simple Things.” Miguel celebrates love in the black-and-white video for his latest song off the soundtrack to HBO’s “Girls.”

The artsy clip, shot throughout L.A., co-stars Sports Illustrated model Gigi Hadid. The two leave their homes and walk through the streets before eventually meeting up on the beach, where Miguel lays in the sand alongside the sexy blonde.

The Grammy-winning singer is currently in the studio working on the follow-up to Kaleidoscope Dream, due this fall. His wish list of collaborators includes Mos Def, Jack White, and Kanye West.

From Frank Ocean to Rihanna, the stars dressed up and showed out at the 2014 Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on Monday. This year’s dress code was white tie, inspired by British fashion designer Charles James known as “America’s First Couturier.”

Before they walk down the aisle this month, Vogue cover stars Kanye West and Kim Kardashian walked the red carpet in Lanvin.

“On the Run” couple Jay Z and Beyoncé got decked out in Givenchy and held hands as they made their royal entrance.

Rihanna wowed in a white midriff-baring Stella McCartney show-stopper with her hair pinned up.

Performer Frank Ocean was dapper in a white tuxedo, Solange traded her natural hair for a short bob and a 3.1 Phillip Lim dress, Rita Ora was a golden goddess in Donna Karan Atelier, and Janelle Monáe electrified in Tadashi Shoji.

Givenchy muse Erykah Badu rocked the carpet in a top hat and white coat, while fashion killas A$AP Rocky and Chanel Iman cozied up in couture.

New Music: Santana f/ Miguel – ‘Indy’

Corazón

Miguel has worked with icons including Elton John and Mariah Carey. Now the Grammy-winning crooner teams with Carlos Santana on “Indy” for the rock legend’s upcoming album Corazón. Miguel serenades his leading lady over Santana’s wailing electric guitar.

“Your body is a temple / It just might be the Temple of Doom / Got an Indiana Jones for ya, baby / There’s no telling what I might do,” he croons.

Due May 6, Corazón also features appearances from Gloria Estefan, Pitbull, Ziggy Marley, and Romeo Santos.

New Music: Miguel f/ Wale – ‘Bennie and the Jets’

In honor of the 40th anniversary of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Elton John is set to reissue his seventh album. Due March 25, the two-disc deluxe edition includes remastered versions of Elton’s classics and covers from today’s popular artists including Ed Sheeran, Emeli Sandé, Fall Out Boy, Hunter Hayes, and Miguel.

The R&B crooner pays tribute to the pop icon on a remake of his ’70s chart-topper “Bennie and the Jets” featuring his “Lotus Flower Bomb” collaborator Wale.

Rick Ross, Miguel, & Keyshia Cole Join LeBron James at GQ All-Star Party

LeBron James and GQ took over New Orleans while hosting one of the biggest parties of NBA All-Star Weekend. On the eve of the All-Star Game, the magazine celebrated All-Star style and unveiled its March cover starring the Miami Heat player at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art.

The Legendary Roots Crew performed a live jam session with special guests Miguel, Bun B, and Nola’s own Juvenile, while Rick Ross shared the stage with King James as he performed “FuckWithMeYouKnowIGotIt.”

Music’s MVPs including Keyshia Cole and Janelle Monáe mingled with all-star athletes Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade, and Skylar Diggins.
