LL Cool J gets his two-step on with his grown and sexy jam “Closer.” The 45-year-old icon raps about not compromising after 30 years in the game, while Monica lays down the soulful hook.
“LL, grown ass man/ Couldn’t give a damn if a young boy’s my fan/ Long as his mama two-step to my jam while she’s cleaning up her house, mop in her hand,” raps LL, adding, “I don’t do features or chase teenage fans.”
Due April 30, LL’s album Authentic also features Brad Paisley, Eddie Van Halen, Snoop Dogg, Charlie Wilson, Travis Barker, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Bootsy Collins.
Monica and Miguel are cooking up a collabo. The two hit the studio on Friday to work on Monica’s seventh album. The 32-year-old songstress took to Twitter to share some of the silly photos from their session.

Love was in the air when Monica and her husband Shannon Brown stopped by “106 & Park” on Monday. Rocking cargo pants from Kanye West’s clothing line, the R&B powerhouse spoke briefly about her latest album New Life. But the loyal mother of two was there to support her husband.
The Phoenix Suns star launched the Wood Star Music Festival to give back to his community. The three-day event, which benefits the Shannon Brown Foundation, will take place in Chicago from August 17-19.
“Now that sports is a part of my life and music is a part of his, let’s bring them both together,” said Monica, who will perform at the festival on August 17, along with Robin Thicke, Estelle, Fantasia, and Dawn Richard.
Nicki Minaj painted Atlanta pink when her tour rolled through town on Sunday. Following a set from opening act 2 Chainz, her Minajesty held court with ATL royalty onstage at the Fox Theatre. Young Jeezy kicked off the surprise-filled evening by performing “Supa Freak.”
Monica got love from Nicki and her hometown while belting out “Why I Love You So Much.” “@NICKIMINAJ’s words to me as she brought me on stage tonight brought tears to my eyes!! Thank U Nicki,” tweeted the R&B songstress.
Bobby V followed with “Slow Down” and Nicki’s longtime friend Waka Flocka Flame performed “Round of Applause.” “We’ve come a long way from roaches to Rolexes,” he told her.
The guest list rounded out with Lil Scrappy and the King of the South, T.I.

Monica took a break from promoting her album New Life and enjoyed some family time with her favorite boys at Jungle Island zoological park in Miami on Tuesday. The R&B songstress, her husband Shannon Brown, and sons Rocko and Romelo got up close with the wildlife. They met a monkey named Smokey, held a red ruffed lemur, and fed the kangaroos.
“This is what you call overcoming your fears,” said Monica as she posed with an albino snake around her neck.
