Pharrell, Jermaine Dupri, & Mariah Carey Welcome Leah LaBelle to NYC

Pharrell, Leah LaBelle, L.A. Reid, Mariah Carey, and J.D.

Pharrell and Jermaine Dupri hosted a coming out party to welcome their new artist Leah LaBelle to New York City last night. Mariah Carey and L.A. Reid showed their support for the Seattle singer, who will release her debut album on I Am Other/So So Def/Epic Records.

Guests dined on crispy rice cakes and herb roasted branzino at seafood restaurant Catch, while catching up with the Season 3 “American Idol” contestant.

“An EPIC moment at my dinner tonight,” tweeted Leah, whose debut single “Sexify” was produced by Pharrell. “I can’t even express my joy.”

Leah LaBelle Shoots ‘Sexify’ Video with Pharrell, Jermaine Dupri

Leah LaBelle partied all night long while shooting the video for her debut single “Sexify” over the weekend. The former “American Idol” contestant, who is now signed to a joint deal with Pharrell and Jermaine Dupri, was joined by a few famous friends on set, including her mentors. Pharrell played a pizza delivery boy, while J.D. took on the role of her angry landlord.

In an episode of “Living the Life,” the So So Def mogul takes us behind the scenes at the Los Angeles shoot, with appearances from Leah’s mother, JoJo, and choreographer Fatima Robinson. Leah will release her debut album on I Am Other/So So Def/Epic Records.

Pharrell Goes Green at Paris Fashion Week

After scoring last weekend’s Academy Awards with Hans Zimmer, Pharrell jetted to Paris for Fashion Week. The trendsetter sported green hair and leather shorts while attending the Lanvin ready-to-wear womenswear show with his new artist Maxine Ashley. He greeted Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and grabbed a seat in the front row with Jessica Alba and Dita von Teese. The N.E.R.D. frontman recently announced that he will be executive producing the soundtrack for the animated film Despicable Me 2.

Pharrell Catches a High with Wiz Khalifa In-Studio [Video]

Pharrell went up in smoke while working with Wiz Khalifa on his upcoming album O.N.I.F.C. (Only Ni**a in First Class).

“That’s some strong shit, man,” said Pharrell, who caught a high just from being around the weed smoker. “You one of us now,” Wiz told him.

Tyler, the Creator and Wiz’s Taylor Gang crew LoLa Monroe and Juicy J also stopped by their smoking sessions, which were aided by some gin.

Pharrell Hits the Studio with Justin Bieber, Astro

Pharrell and Justin Bieber

Pharrell is taking a new generation of young stars under his wing. The Neptunes super-producer hit the studio with Justin Bieber in Miami to work on his upcoming album Believe over the weekend. While in town, the Biebs also logged studio time with Timbaland and went skateboarding with Lil Wayne.

In addition to the teen idol, Skateboard P cooked up some beats for former “X Factor” contestant and rapper Astro aka the Astronomical Kid, who recently inked a deal with Epic Records. Judging from the wheel in Astro’s hand, it looks like they also found time to play Mario Kart.

Add them to Pharrell’s growing list of recent collaborators including Ne-Yo, Wiz Khalifa, Dr. Dre, and Snoop Dogg. Who gon’ stop him, huh?
