R. Kelly, Solange, and Nas Play Bonnaroo

Solange

The stars flocked to Manchester, Tennessee, for the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival over the weekend. From Björk to Wu-Tang Clan to R. Kelly, the four-day music extravaganza featured a diverse lineup of talent.

Solange sported braids and shades while rocking the stage on Day 3. She had the crowd singing and dancing along to her hits including “Sandcastle Disco” and “Losing You” off her EP True.

Nas took festivalgoers on a journey of his legendary career, beginning with Illmatic and culminating with Life Is Good.

R. Kelly closed out Saturday’s festivities with a headlining set and shared the stage with Jim James, Billy Idol, Brittany Howard, and John Oates for Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come.”

New Music: The Lonely Island f/ Solange – ‘Semicolon’

Solange

The Lonely Island takes us to grammar school with the latest release in their Wack Wednesdays series. The comedic rap trio enlists Solange for the ridiculous, yet hilarious “Semicolon.”

“When it comes to punctuation, you know we’re number one,” sings Solo as the guys spit some comical lines. “And to the people of every nation/ Feel the power of the semicolon.”

The Wack Album is due June 11 featuring Pharrell, Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, T-Pain, Kendrick Lamar, and more.

Looks Good With Trouble

Kendrick Lamar blesses Solange with a verse on the remix to “Looks Good With Trouble,” a cut off her EP True. K-Dot adds his velvety flow over the vibey Dev Hynes production, rapping lyrics from Common’s “The Light” (“ticka-ta, ticka-ta, ticka-ticka-tick-a”). The song is now available on iTunes.

Solange is featured on comedic rap trio The Lonely Island’s upcoming project The Wack Album and will perform at the Made in America Festival in Philadelphia this August.

Video: Solange – ‘Locked in Closets’

Solange takes us on a fun and vibrant journey through Brooklyn in the mini music video for “Locked in Closets,” a cut off her EP True. She collaborated on the colorful visuals with Refinery29 and Absolut Tune as part of their “Free Spirits” campaign.

The stylish singer sits in front of a pink brownstone, bike rides through Gowanus Canal, and dances at a midnight party in the brief clip.

She is featured on The Lonely Island’s upcoming project, The Wack Album, due June 11. In addition to Solange, the comedic rap trio has collaborated with Pharrell, T-Pain, Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, and Kendrick Lamar.

Solange Performs with The xx at Coachella

Solange and Oliver Sim

Solange wasn’t officially on the bill at Coachella, but she did make a special appearance during The xx’s set on Saturday night. The British band’s frontman Oliver Sim introduced the 26-year-old singer, who performed “Locked in Closets” off her EP True. She sauntered across the stage before dueting with Oliver on Aaliyah’s “Hot Like Fire.”

“Let’s dance!” said Solange as the crowd moved their feet.

Solange Storms Fader Fort at SXSW

Solange

Solange pulled into Austin, Texas, for several performances during SXSW. On Thursday, she took the stage at the Fader Fort for a sizzling set consisting of material off her EP True. Sporting a green floral patterned pantsuit, the fashionista and her band, including collaborator Devonté Hynes, jammed to her crowd-pleasing single “Losing You.”

“I want to see ya’ll dance,” said Solo as the audience grooved to her funky tune.
