New Music: The Weeknd – ‘Enemy’

The Weeknd

The Weeknd masters the art of seduction…without a word on his new song “Enemy,” which he released for his fans online.

“I’d rather be your enemy than any friend you think I would be,” sings the Toronto crooner. “I’m just tryna take you home without a word/ I’m just tryna kiss your neck without a word/ I’m just tryna lay you down without a word.”

The dark, piano-driven cut will not appear on his three-disc debut Trilogy, which contains his mixtape material along with the new tracks “Twenty Eight,” “Valerie,” and “Till Dawn (Here Comes the Sun).”

Old favorites and a few new surprises. The Weeknd reveals the tracklisting for his major-label debut Trilogy. The bulk of the album consists of material from the Toronto singer’s critically-acclaimed mixtapes, House of Balloons, Thursday, and Echoes of Silence, along with the new tracks “Twenty Eight,” “Valerie,” and “Till Dawn (Here Comes the Sun).”

Aside from Drake on “The Zone,” Juicy J is the only other featured guest, contributing a verse to “Same Old Song.” Trilogy arrives November 13 via Universal Republic.

In the black-and-white clip, the Canadian singer, born Abel Tesfaye, croons about falling for a stripper, but only to satisfy his own ego.

“Wicked Games” is already a favorite of Weeknd fans, but will be officially released as part of his Universal Republic debut Trilogy, which will feature music from his three mixtapes and is slated for release on November 13.

The Weeknd Promises Fans He Will ‘Not Disappoint’ in Open Letter

As he prepares for the release of his major-label debut Trilogy next month, The Weeknd takes a moment to connect with his fans. In an open letter, the Canadian singer thanks them for their unwavering support and explains the concept behind the viral video for “Rolling Stone,” which was done to “show you how I felt and where I stand.” The black-and-white clip represents his transition into the spotlight.

“The camera lights symbolize the crossover, and when they begin to flash I look away from the underground,” explains the 22-year-old. “Even though I don’t want to, it is a step that I feel I must take to evolve as an artist.”

Although he has signed a deal with Universal Republic, he assures his supporters that he won’t compromise his artistic integrity.

“You will continue to get what you fell in love with, and I will continue to give you what you ask for,” he says. “Thank you again for your patience and loyalty, I will not disappoint.”

New Music: Wiz Khalifa f/ The Weeknd – ‘Remember You’
