Trey Songz Performs on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’

Trey Songz celebrated the release of his sixth album Trigga with an appearance on Tuesday’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

Following Jennifer Lopez and Iggy Azalea, the R&B crooner helped Jimmy interpret the lyrics to his hit “Na Na” in a segment called “New Lyrics for Old People.”

He also hit the outdoor stage in Hollywood to perform the DJ Mustard-produced song and “Foreign” before a crowd of his mostly female fans.

Trigga is expected to sell 85-95,000 copies in its first week.

After his emotional speech at the BET Awards, Best New Artist winner August Alsina brought a smile to R&B lovers’ faces with his performance. The New Orleans singer opened with “Kissin’ on My Tattoos” while female acrobats danced above him.

He continued with his hit single “I Luv This Shit.” But the big surprise was when Trey Songz joined him on stage, ending their beef. Chris Brown came down from the aisles to join the fellas on the remix.

After hugging it out with his R&B brothers, Trigga continued with his solo set, performing “Na Na” with a stage full of sexy ladies.

Trey Songz Throws Out First Pitch at Dodgers Game

Trey Songz hit up the West Coast for a week of promo for his new album Trigga. Rocking a custom Dodgers jersey, the “Na Na” singer threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the L.A. Dodgers vs. St. Louis Cardinals game at Dodger Stadium on Thursday.

While the ball didn’t quite cross the plate, he saved himself from joining the ranks of 50 Cent.

However, Trey was not quite satisfied with his pitch, asking the catcher for one more shot.

Before his trip to the mound, he also spoke about his new music and sending a studio full of roses to Nicki Minaj. “I probably sent her 3000 roses,” said Trey.

Trey Songz Surprises Nicki Minaj with Dozens of Roses

Trey Songz sure knows how to charm the ladies. The R&B crooner surprised Nicki Minaj with a studio full of pink roses to thank her for her contribution to his new album Trigga.

“Walked into the studio to this. Whoa! U rlly shldnt have @treysongz. I’m playing, u should have. Lol,” said Nicki.

The flowers came with a handwritten note from Trey. “I’m a lil late on the rosĂ© so I got you these roses instead,” he said. “Nicki I love you!!! So proud of you. Your growth is inspiring and beautiful to watch. Very happy and honored for us to do it again.”

Nicki returned the love, writing, “The honor is all mine, Trey. Thank u. #BottomsUp #TouchinLovin.”

Stream Trey Songz’ New Album ‘Trigga’


In just one week, Trey Songz will release his sixth album Trigga. The R&B singer has teamed up with MTV to give his Angels a first listen before it arrives in stores on July 1.

The 17 tracks feature the singles “Na Na,” “SmartPhones,” and “Foreign,” with appearances from Nicki Minaj, Mila J, Ty Dolla $ign, Juicy J, and Justin Bieber, who guests on the remix to “Foreign.”

“This is another dimension of my mind and my emotion,” said Trey. “It’s vulnerable, but it’s harsh. Trigga‘s a bit unapologetic, a little vulgar sometimes.”
