Wale Soul Searches, Jokes with Jerry Seinfeld in ‘The Album About Nothing’ Trailer

Wale looks back on the past as he prepares to move forward with his fourth LP The Album About Nothing.

In the three-minute trailer, the D.C. rapper addresses the headlines over the past year including his beef with his MMG labelmate Meek Mill, punching a heckler in the face at a WWE event, and his heated phone call to Complex after they didn’t include him on their best of 2013 list.

“I’ve been doing a good amount of soul searching and I feel like I’m on an emotional roller coaster these days. And honestly ya’ll, sometimes I feel like I’ve lost it all,” admits Wale.

He asks, “Where did I lose myself? Where did I lose them? Was it the money? Was it the women? Was it the fast life?”

The clip ends with him in the studio with Jerry Seinfeld, recording for The Album About Nothing.

New Music: The Game f/ Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, Diddy, Fabolous, Wale, & TGT – ‘Don’t Shoot’

Don't Shoot

The Game stands up to intolerance and racism on the Ferguson anthem “Don’t Shoot,” dedicated to the memory of Mike Brown. The Compton MC brings together the hip-hop community including Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, Diddy, Fabolous, Wale, DJ Khaled, Swizz Beatz, Yo Gotti, Curren$y, Problem, King Pharaoh, and TGT.

The protest song includes powerful verses and a call to action: “Time to take a stand and save our future like we all got shot.”

Game explained how the collaboration came together. “I managed to get everyone on fairly easy, simply because we have hearts,” he said. “We care and are inclined to take a positive approach to resolving an issue that has existed since the beginning of mankind and that’s racism and hatred towards one another as human beings.”

The song is now available on iTunes, with all proceeds benefitting the Justice for Mike Brown charity.

Listen to them join together for justice.

Don’t Shoot: Chris Brown, Nelly, & Trey Songz Protest Michael Brown Shooting

Wale, Chris Brown, Nelly, Lil Mama, and Bow Wow

The stars took the field for a good cause. Following last month’s kickball game, Chris Brown and Quincy teamed up to host a charity flag football game at Jack Kemp Stadium at Occidental College in L.A. on Saturday.

Team Breezy, which included Game, Wale, Tyga, Trey Songz, Bow Wow, and Omarion, defeated Team Quincy 42-21.

There was plenty of action off the field as well. Despite reports that they broke up, Chris was seen cozying up to his old flame Karrueche, who was all smiles as Chris put his arms around her. He later posted an Instagram photo of them together in the car.

At the end of the game, Missouri native Nelly got on the mic and asked everyone to put their hands up and say “Don’t Shoot” in protest of the police shooting that left African-American teenager Michael Brown dead in Ferguson, Miss. Chris, Bow Wow, Trey, Lil Mama, Wale, and the rest of the stadium stood in solidarity with their hands up.

“If anybody can sympathize with what my city is going through, it’s this city of L.A. right now on so many levels,” said Nelly, who was wearing a #MikeBrown tank top. “So for that respect alone, I’m asking you, I’m begging you, and I’m pleading for you to just raise your hands for a second.”
