A$AP Rocky ‘Prays’ to Have a Career Like Rihanna

A$AP Rocky was greeted with cheers when he visited “106 & Park” on Monday to announce his album release date and premiere the video for “Fuckin’ Problems” with Drake, 2 Chainz, and Kendrick Lamar.

The Harlem rapper will drop his long-awaited debut Long.Live.A$AP on January 15, 2013. “I think everybody was waiting on this album and now it’s finally coming out,” he said.

Pretty Flacko will hit the road with Rihanna on her “Diamonds” tour in March, and hopes to one day have a career like his tourmate. “I pray with the grace of God that I can get to where she’s at as far as her career. She’s really big and she’s really an idol in pop culture,” he said.

“This was like a ‘Club Paradise’ reunion. We just having fun,” said Rocky during his appearance on “106 & Park.”

Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors

Big Boi’s sophomore album Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors is shaping up to be quite eclectic. After collaborating with Kelly Rowland (“Mama Told Me”), UGK and Big K.R.I.T. (“Gossip”), and Theophilus London (“She Said OK”), the OutKast rapper teams with A$AP Rocky and indie pop duo Phantogram on the funky “Lines,” produced by Organized Noize.

“Like the baby in the manger, I gave my life to Jesus because he could protect me from the dangers in the circle of angels,” raps Big Boi on his religious verse.

The follow-up to his 2010 solo debut Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty is due December 11 featuring even more collabos with T.I., Ludacris, B.o.B, and Little Dragon.

Fat Joe is deadly with a mic in the video for his latest posse anthem “Yellow Tape.” Joey Crack assembles an all-star lineup including DJ Khaled, Lil Wayne, A$AP Rocky, and French Montana for the clip, which was shot in Miami.

“I wanted to make a record that would go in the clubs, so we flipped the sample from ‘Ante Up,’ which is one of the most legendary hip-hop songs of all time,” said Joe. “The record is produced by Infared and Illa and arranged by RoJ & TwinkiE. They remade the beat from scratch and brought it up to speed to what’s going on in 2012.”

A$AP Mob and T.D.E. joined forces during A$AP Rocky’s “LongLiveA$AP” tour stop at Oakland’s Fox Theater last night. The Harlem rapper performed his new single “Fuckin’ Problems” for the first time live, bringing out the “Swimming Pools” MC.

“I don’t think I’m too good at singing. I might have a fuckin’ problem on my hands,” said A$AP before introducing the song, which also features 2 Chainz and Drake.

He stopped the beat and asked the crowd, “Is Kendrick here? Go get K-Dot. I ain’t gonna do this alone. We gotta do it the right way.”
