Beyoncé Covers Out Magazine’s Power Issue

All hail Queen Bey. Fresh off her world tour, Beyoncé graces the May 2014 Power issue of gay lifestyle magazine Out. The “Partition” singer channels Marilyn Monroe, rocking a curly blonde bob and pearl necklace in the stunning black-and-white photo.

In the issue, Blue Ivy’s mother speaks out on behalf of her fellow females. “There is a double standard when it comes to sexuality that still persists,” says Bey. “Men are free and women are not. That is crazy.”

She also encourages women to celebrate their sexuality. “You can be a businesswoman, a mother, an artist, and a feminist—whatever you want to be—and still be a sexual being,” she continues. “There is unbelievable power in ownership and women should own their sexuality.”

While the interview with Beyoncé was done via email, the magazine received unprecedented access to team Beyoncé including her publicist, stylist, and visual director, who gave insight into working with the world’s biggest pop star.

“I call them the underdogs because so many people doubted the team I put together,” said Bey of her Parkwood Entertainment family.

Bey’s quest for perfection helped turn her latest album into a game changer. “There were days I spent solely on getting the perfect mix of sounds for the snare alone,” she said. “Discipline, patience, control, truth, risk, and effortlessness were all things I thought about while I was putting this album together.”

While in town for her “Mrs. Carter Show World Tour,” Beyoncé visited the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam on Wednesday. The “Partition” singer and her husband Jay Z toured the museum dedicated to the teenage Jewish diarist, who hid from Nazi persecution during World War II. Before leaving, Bey wrote a message in the guestbook.

A fan snapped a photo of the Carters as they left the museum. “Came to Anne Frank, saw these two too! #random #celeb,” wrote jedlogan.

Last year, Justin Bieber visited the historic landmark and drew outrage for his comments in the guestbook. “Truly inspiring to be able to come here,” wrote the Canadian singer. “Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber.”
