Big Boi is facing drug charges after he was arrested by police in Miami on Sunday.

The OutKast rapper, born Antwan Patton, was charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, reports TMZ.

According to the Miami-Dade County Corrections Department, he was found with ecstasy pills, MDMA powder, Viagra, and drug paraphernalia. He reportedly did not have a prescription for the Viagra.

Customs and border patrol dogs busted the Atlanta MC, 36, as he was exiting a cruise ship. He had been vacationing with his family and fellow OutKast member André 3000.

Big Boi was booked into jail at 1:35 p.m. EST. Bonds totaling $16,000 were set, reports CNN.

Those hoping for an OutKast reunion may not have to wait too much longer. While a full album remains up in the air, Big Boi reveals that the partners in rhyme could reunite for a record on his next solo album.

“I think it’s very much possible because we have L.A. Reid in our corner now, and he was the first to sign OutKast,” Big Boi told Rolling Stone.

Jive Records, which is currently home to the Atlanta duo, blocked André 3000 from appearing on Big Boi’s 2010 solo debut, Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty (Island Def Jam). Reid recently became chairman of Epic Records and would presumably be in the position to clear André’s verse.

“L.A. has permission to make it happen now,” added Big Boi. “So I hope it does, and I don’t really see why it won’t.”

Big Boi’s next solo album, tentatively titled Daddy Fat Sax: Soul Funk Crusader, will feature a collaboration with Janelle Monáe and is due for release by the end of the year.

Big Boi’s daughter Jordan Patton is following in her father’s musical footsteps. For her 16th birthday, the OutKast rapper gave her her own label Purple Ribbon Kidz to which she will sign and develop the next superstars. The father and daughter celebrated the launch with a party at Hard Rock Cafe in Atlanta over the weekend. The first signee, 13-year-old YouTube discovery Gabbie Rae, performed along with teen acts Audio (formerly B5), Cypress, and Von Grey.

“She just has an ear for music,” the proud papa told Atlanta’s 11 Alive. “She listens to everything ’cause I listen to everything.”

The South by Southwest (SXSW) Festival kicked off with a bang from Big Boi. The ATLien captivated hipsters and hip-hop heads alike at the Pepsi MAX and foursquare concert on Monday, performing his OutKast hits including “Ms. Jackson,” “So Fresh, So Clean,” and solo material onstage in Austin, Texas.

“It’s always a pleasure. This is like my third, fourth time down here and it’s like the whole indie scene and just really a lot of hipsters, a lot of cool kids. It’s the place where the cool people come and hang out,” said Big Boi.

Fans who unlocked a Golden Ticket Badge with foursquare got exclusive access to see the Grammy winner, along with Locksley and The Sounds.

B.o.B, Janelle Monáe, and Big Boi smiled for a Grammy portrait at the Atlanta Chapter Grammy nominee reception at the W Atlanta Downtown yesterday. The trio celebrated their nods with fellow nominees Kelly Price and Musiq Soulchild, posing with a giant gold gramophone. Bobby Ray and Janelle, along with Bruno Mars, are scheduled to perform at next month’s ceremony in Los Angeles.

If B.o.B wins in one of the five categories he’s nominated for, he plans to celebrate in a big way. “I see myself holding an armful of Grammys and everybody turning them sideways to pour a drink in them and toasting with the Grammys as if they’re cups, and then taking pictures and putting them on Facebook,” he told Rap-Up TV. Big Boi may have only released his debut solo album Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty in July, but he’s been working on visuals for the project as far back as 2008. The OutKast member shot the video for album cut “The Train, Pt. 2 (Sir Lucious Left Foot Saves the Day)” during his special performance with the Atlanta Ballet in 2008, waiting a few years to put out the visuals. In the clip, cameras follow the ATLien as he preps for the gig, later taking the stage to perform the funky joint with dancers and guests Janelle Monáe and Sleepy Brown. Keri Hilson and Big Boi stressed the importance of education to students at Chicago’s Collins Academy High School during Thursday’s Get Schooled National Challenge and Tour. Miss Keri, accessorized with her No Boys Allowed necklace, performed “Knock You Down” and offered her advice to the youth.

“I think the key to making it through high school and life in general is knowing what’s important, attacking that, and executing everything,” said Keri, a former co-captain of her high school basketball team.

Big Boi was pursuing his education before OutKast blew up. “Before I started doing music, I was actually planning on going to school to study child psychology, but when I was in eleventh grade we went platinum,” shared Sir Lucious. “I still finished and graduated with honors.”
