Janelle Monáe brings that old school back on the Dungeon-Wondamix remix to her title track “Electric Lady” featuring three of her favorite artists—Big Boi, CeeLo Green, and Solange.
The critic’s darling channels early TLC on the ’90s-inspired jam, while CeeLo and Big Boi add some funk and Solange helps out on the hook.

Big Boi is bringing some southern swag to a city near you. The Atlanta rapper has announced dates for his “Shoes for Running” tour.
Big Boi serves up a full course with the appetizing video for “Apple of My Eye,” the third single off his sophomore album Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors. The clip opens with the OutKast rapper trying to order the “most succulent of saucy” sandwiches at a food truck run by YouTube sensation Epic Meal Time.
After not being satisfied with the high-calorie options, he eventually settles on an apple. He then heads inside a dark brick studio to jam with Jake Troth and The Sons of Thunder on his funky record.
Big Boi will launch his “Shoes for Running” tour with Killer Mike on April 19. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, March 5.

Lil Wayne welcomed the world to his hometown of New Orleans for Super Bowl XLVII. The Young Money chief headlined Electronic Arts’ Madden Bowl XIX along with Big Boi on Friday night at the Bud Light Hotel. A shirtless Weezy took the stage to perform his hits including his latest “Love Me” off his upcoming album I Am Not a Human Being II, due March 26.
While his team the Green Bay Packers are not playing in the Super Bowl this year, he was still happy that the festivities are being held in his hometown. “I’m excited for it to be in New Orleans, for the city, period,” he told MTV News. “Just for the city to get that kind of respect and that recognition, after such a tragedy [like Hurricane Katrina].”
He plans to kick back and watch the Ravens take on the 49ers on Super Bowl Sunday. “I’m going to just chill with family, enjoy the game like everybody else,” he said. “My team’s not in it, so I ain’t trippin’.”
On Saturday, Weezy will perform again at GQ magazine’s annual Super Bowl party. The invite-only event will take place at the historic Elm’s Mansion on St. Charles Avenue in the city’s Garden District.
