Big Sean Reflects on His ‘Reality’ in New Vlog

“I create my own world. I can make any situation reality,” says Big Sean as he returns home to headline a show in his hometown of Detroit. In the third installment in his vlog series entitled “Reality,” the G.O.O.D. Music MC plays the famed Palace in Auburn Hills and brings out surprise guests including Kanye West, Common, J. Cole, Pusha T, Mike Posner, and Teyana Taylor.

The “Guap” rapper reflects on the unforgettable night and speaks about turning his dreams into reality, which include buying his dream car, purchasing a house for his mother, and performing with his heroes.

“Even in high school teachers would always tell me to snap out of it or snap back to reality,” he recalls. “But I was in reality. It was as real as it could be. It just wasn’t there yet. It just wasn’t that day.”

Sean’s sophomore album Hall of Fame is due early next year.

On the Cool & Dre-produced “All That (Lady),” the Compton MC praises the special lady in his life (“I love you like cooked food”) over a sample of D’Angelo’s ’90s classic “Lady.”

Big Sean, Lil Wayne, and Fabolous chip in verses, while Jeremih channels D’Angelo on the soulful hook.

Big Sean Brings Out Kanye West, J. Cole, & G.O.O.D. Music Family in Detroit

It was a night to remember for Big Sean, who headlined his biggest show yet at The Palace of Auburn Hills in his hometown of Detroit on Saturday. The 24-year old G.O.O.D. Music MC was joined onstage by surprise guests J. Cole, Mike Posner, and his G.O.O.D. family including Kanye West, Common, Pusha T, and Teyana Taylor.

He performed “24 Karats of Gold” with Cole and brought out his crew for the encore of “Mercy” and “Clique.”

During the star-studded concert, Sean announced the launch of his non-profit organization, the Sean Anderson Foundation, whose mission is to promote the education, health, safety, and well-being of Detroit area school-aged youth.

“I had a truly awesome time performing in Detroit tonight. The whole city came out,” tweeted Sean, whose sophomore album Hall of Fame is due next spring.

New Music: Big Sean – ‘Guap’

Guap

Big Sean stacks his paper on “Guap,” the first single from his sophomore album Hall of Fame, due December 18. The G.O.O.D. Music signee taunts his enemies and “hatin’ hos” with his success on the island-flavored song, produced by Key Wane (“Amen”) and Young Chop (“I Don’t Like”), with ad-libs from Kanye West.

“This to all of my enemies that see me getting guap right now/ See me getting guap right now/ Hell yeah, I won’t stop right now,” raps the Detroit MC over steel drums.

“As crazy as life is for me, sometimes I need a feel good song to escape to n just turn the fuck up on!” explained Sean. “This to anybody who had to work hard to get it! Anybody who grind non stop to shine!”

Kendrick Lamar Brings Out Dr. Dre, Game, and T.I. at Hometown Show

Kendrick Lamar showed love to the West Coast by bringing out a few surprise guests during his “BET Music Matters” concert in his hometown of L.A. last night. Concertgoers got more than their money’s worth when hip-hop heavyweights T.I., Game, Big Sean, and Dr. Dre all joined Compton’s golden child onstage at Club Nokia.

“This is one of my favorite records that I’ve done,” said Kendrick before performing “The City” with fellow Compton native Game.

Kendrick’s mentor Dre joined him for their collabos “Compton” and “The Recipe,” both off Kendrick’s upcoming debut good kid, m.A.A.d city, while the King of the South jumped onstage for “Go Get It” and “What You Know.”

Big Sean also showed support for hip-hop’s new kid on the block, rapping along as Kendrick performed “Swimming Pools (Drank).”
