New Music: BoA f/ Sean Garrett – ‘I Did It For Love’

Korean pop star BoA gets a boost of hitmaking power from Sean Garrett on her new single, “I Did It For Love.” The song will appear on her self-titled U.S. debut album, set for worldwide release on March 17. BoA shot a video with director Joseph Kahn (Pussycat Dolls, Britney Spears) last week in Los Angeles.

Other tracks on the album include the Sean Garrett club banger “Energetic;” “Obsessed” (Brian Kennedy); “Eat You Up,” “Look Who’s Talking,” and “Hypnotic Dancefloor” (Henrik Jonback); and “Did Ya” and “Touched” (Bloodshy & Avant).

BoA Enlists U.S. Hitmakers for English Debut


Korean pop star BoA is gearing up for her U.S. launch beginning with a move to the West Coast. The singer, who recently relocated to Los Angeles, is assembling an all-star team of producers and songwriters for her English-language debut album, scheduled for release next year.

Korean Pop Star BoA Prepares U.S. Takeover


A couple weeks ago, Rap-Up had the pleasure of traveling to Seoul, South Korea to meet Korean pop star BoA (think Britney Spears of Asia, minus the controversy). At 21, BoA is one of the most popular artists in the Far East, selling millions of records throughout Korea and Japan, racking up numerous awards and accolades, and receiving endorsements from Nike, L’Oréal, and Samsung. Up next, BoA has her sights set on conquering the U.S. market.
