Bridget Kelly Readies ‘Something Different’ Debut for September

Bridget Kelly has been keeping quiet on details surrounding her debut, but she’s finally ready to share it with the world. Fresh from wrapping the “Liberation” tour with Mary J. Blige, the Roc Nation singer announced the title and release date on the red carpet at the 26th Annual ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards.

“It’s called Something Different and it’s coming out in September,” she told Rap-Up TV.

Following “Street Dreamin” with Kendrick Lamar, she will release her new single “Goosebumps” at the end of August/early September.

“It’s really exciting. I’m pumped to put the album out in September,” said Bridget, who will perform at the ESSENCE Music Festival in New Orleans next weekend.

Bridget Kelly rides out with Kendrick Lamar in the street-chic video for her single “Street Dreamin.” While cruising through the streets, one special guy catches Bridget’s eye. She meets up with her friends, while K-Dot finds his own leading lady to kick it with.

The two shot the Clifton Bell-directed clip near the railroad tracks in Greensboro, North Carolina, while Kendrick was on tour.

The Shea Taylor-produced song will appear on Bridget’s upcoming debut, along with contributions from Jerry Wonda, Ne-Yo, and The-Dream.

Video: K Koke f/ Bridget Kelly – ‘My Time’

K Koke and Bridget Kelly

The Roc is in the building. Bridget Kelly unites with her Roc Nation labelmate from across the pond, K Koke, in the video for “My Time.” In the stylish and sophisticated clip, Bridget goes glam as she sings in a mansion. A dapper K Koke smokes a cigar and sips Jay-Z’s D’Ussé cognac while sitting in a boardroom and playing pool with his boys.

“I think it’s definitely going to blow up overseas, blow up in America just because it’s time,” Bridget told Radio King Online of the record. “It feels like the right time for a British rapper to come over and just completely infiltrate the situation.”

Fresh off the release of her single “Street Dreamin” with Kendrick Lamar, Bridget will hit the road with Mary J. Blige on the “Liberation” tour, beginning June 6 in Hampton, Virginia.
