Kanye West’s battle with the media rages on. After facing off with NBC’s Matt Lauer last year, the outspoken rapper took to Twitter to defend himself over a tweet he made about Britney Spears.

“Yo Britney, I’m really happy for you and I’mma let you be #1, but me and Jay-Z single is one of the best songs of all time! LOL,” wrote Yeezy last week, later deleting the tweet. Britney’s manager Adam Leber responded back, tweeting, “Thanks for ‘letting’ us be #1. Much appreciated….”

‘Ye’s comment caused anger from some Britney fans and others who interpreted it as a jab at the pop star. But Kanye insists it was not an attack on her. Read his series of tweets below.

Kanye West is back at it. The rapper took his stage-crashing antics to Twitter, sparking a little friendly competition with Britney Spears. While the singer’s new single “Hold It Against Me” tops the iTunes Singles chart, Yeezy is a bit salty that his joint record with Jay-Z, “H•A•M,” is runner up.

She’s written for Miley Cyrus and Chris Brown, but she’s about to tackle her biggest project yet—writing for Britney Spears. British singer-songwriter Jessie J is set to go in the studio to pen a song for the global pop star.

Rap-Up TV interviewed Danja on the red carpet at last week’s ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards. We asked the super-producer about working on new projects for two of music’s biggest stars, Britney Spears and T.I. He reveals that he is in pre-production for Britney’s album and plans on creating some “hard-hitting, uptempo, high-energy” records, while his contributions to T.I.’s King Uncaged will have a more worldly, aggressive sound.

Britney Spears was in top shape as she kicked off her Circus tour at the New Orleans Arena in Louisiana on Tuesday night. Wearing an assortment of sexy DSquared2-designed outfits, the world’s biggest pop star ran through her hits, including “Piece of Me,” “Womanizer,” and “Baby One More Time,” in her first tour since 2004.
