Trey Songz Celebrates 30th Birthday with Chris Brown, Mila J

Trey Songz and Mila J

Trigga turned 30 and celebrated with a carnival-themed birthday bash on Saturday. The R&B superstar took over a park in Malibu and turned up with friends including Chris Brown, Kid Ink, Pusha T, Sevyn Streeter, Trevor Jackson, and Chanel West Coast.

Guests had a blast riding bumper cars and playing carnival games, and snacked on treats including cotton candy and funnel cake. Trey shot hoops with Chris and won some prizes for his rumored girlfriend Mila J.

Breezy rode a mechanical bull (and the bull won) and serenaded the birthday boy, who blew out the candles on his carnival tent-shaped cake.

The singers, whose “Between the Sheets Tour” kicks off in January, both got on the mic to perform their “Tuesday (Remix)” for the crowd.

“Tonight has been awesome,” said Trigga.

Usher’s “UR Experience” pulled into L.A.’s Staples Center on Friday night with a slew of surprises. After bringing out Trey Songz in Chicago, the R&B superstar was joined by some more of his R&B brothers including Chris Brown, Jeremih, and August Alsina.

Kid Ink was up first, hitting the stage for their collaboration “Body Language” before Jeremih turned up on the remix to DJ Khaled’s “Hold You Down” and his own top 10 hit “Don’t Tell ‘Em.”

After opening for Usher earlier in the evening, August returned for “I Luv This Shit” with a surprise appearance from Chris Brown, who was greeted with roaring applause. Breezy then delved into “Loyal” while August captured the moment on his iPhone.

“Breezy, I don’t think they’re ready to turn all the way up,” said Usher before the two launched into their X hit “New Flame.” They wowed with their slick moves, and Usher showed off his abs, before hugging it out.

Rap-Up TV: Trey Songz Talks ‘Between the Sheets Tour’ with Chris Brown

Following months of speculation, Trey Songz and Chris Brown finally made it official and announced their “Between the Sheets” co-headlining tour during an event at the House of Blues in L.A. on Monday. The R&B superstars sat down with Terrence J for a Q&A and performed three songs including “Touchin, Lovin,” “Loyal,” and their remix to ILoveMakonnen and Drake’s “Tuesday.”

They will be joined by Tyga on the 25-date trek, which kicks off on January 28 in Hampton, Va., and travels to Brooklyn, Atlanta, Philadelphia, and L.A. Tickets go on sale to the public on November 17.

After the big announcement, Trey caught up with Rap-Up TV to discuss the tour’s origins. The initial idea came about a few months ago when they were in the studio.

“[Chris] and I spent a couple nights in the studio after creating ['Songs on 12 Play'] and we looked up and had more than enough songs together just to go out and perform together,” he explained. “Us being friends, us having a synergy amongst each other musically as well as being friends, I thought it’d be great for the fans.”

Team Breezy and Trey’s Angels can look forward to seeing both singers perform their hits and new material off their latest albums X and Trigga.

“You can expect major energy. You can expect three guys out there going and doing their best every night. Of course, we’re friends and we love one another, but it’s gonna be a friendly competition so you can expect us to go out there every night, not to try to outdo anybody, but just giving our best, putting our best foot forward and making the fans happy.”

In anticipation of the tour, Trigga and Breezy dropped several remixes including ScHoolboy Q’s “Studio,” TeeFLii’s “24 Hours,” and ILoveMakonnen’s “Tuesday.” So can we expect a joint project?

“Who knows? Both of us work very fast together,” said Trey. “The first time I’ve actually sat in the booth and recorded vocals with another artist has been with Chris and the same for him. I think it’s fair to say that with us being on the road together, being around each other every day, I think it’ll be very easy to get records done and kinda inevitable.”

Trey recently shot a video for his new single “Touchin, Lovin” featuring Nicki Minaj, which will premiere in the weeks ahead.
