Diamond avoids the drama and handles her business like a boss (“I can do bad by my damn self”), while Da Brat rips apart the BigDreek-produced track with her ferocious flow.

Kris Kross’ Chris Kelly Remembered at Atlanta Funeral

Kris Kross’ Chris Kelly was remembered as a true friend and hip-hop pioneer at a memorial in Atlanta on Thursday. His family and friends gathered to pay their respects to the 34-year-old rapper known as Mac Daddy, who died last week of an apparent drug overdose.

Kriss Kross, Da Brat, & Xscape Rehearse for So So Def 20th Anniversary Concert

Jermaine Dupri will celebrate 20 years of So So Def with a star-studded concert tonight at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre. With hours to go until the big show, the So So Def boss shares rehearsal footage starring some of the artists on the bill.

Da Brat and J.D. trade rhymes on “That’s What I’m Looking For,” while Kriss Kross reprises their ’90s classic “Jump.” R&B supergroups Xscape and Jagged Edge also tinker with their performances in the behind-the-scenes footage.

Saturday’s star-studded lineup features past and present So So Def artists including Bow Wow, Bonecrusher, Dondria, and Anthony Hamilton, plus Nelly, Ludacris, and Usher.

If you want to step to Da Brat, you better have a big…bank account. The ferocious femcee flaunts her taste for expensive things on the rock-tinged “Talk to Me,” produced by Blue Rocks.

“My favorite language money, can you afford me?” she asks before spitting some rapid rhymes.

Da Brat will reunite with her fellow So So Def alum at the 20th anniversary So So Def All-Star Anniversary Concert in Atlanta on February 23 along with Jermaine Dupri, Kriss Kross, Xscape, Jagged Edge, Dem Franchize Boyz, Bonecrusher, and Dondria.

New Music: Jermaine Dupri f/ Jagged Edge, Da Brat, Dondria, Fresco Kane, & Bow Wow – ‘Celebration’


So So Def is back in the building. On the 20th anniversary of his famed label, Jermaine Dupri reunites his all-star roster for a “Celebration.” He remixes Game’s Jesus Piece single with some old and new So So Def artists including Jagged Edge, Da Brat, Dondria, Fresco Kane, and Bow Wow.

J.D. will host a So So Def anniversary concert at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre on February 23. Tickets go on sale Saturday.

Da Brat, Kalenna Attend ‘Battleship’ Screening in Atlanta

Da Brat was among the stars who got a sneak peek of Battleship before it sails into theaters nationwide today. The So So Def rapper and her fellow ATLiens attended a private screening for the action-packed film in Atlanta last night. Former Dirty Money member Kalenna rocked blond locks and Lil Wayne’s daughter Reginae Carter and her mother Toya Wright grabbed a seat to check out Rihanna’s first big role.
