Danity Kane Debuts ‘All in a Day’s Work’ at L.A. Show

Danity Kane made a triumphant return to the stage during their first show in five years at the House of Blues in L.A. on Monday night. Now a foursome, Dawn Richard, Aubrey O’Day, Shannon Bex, and Aundrea Fimbres, showed that they haven’t missed a beat, running through their biggest hits and fan favorites including “Show Stopper,” “Want It,” and “Poetry” before a sold-out crowd.

The former “Making the Band 4″ stars performed an acoustic cover of Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” and showcased their individual talents (Aubrey sang Madonna’s “Like a Virgin,” while Dawn covered Prince’s “I Would Die 4 U”).

They also debuted a new song called “All in a Day’s Work” off their upcoming album.

“This song is called ‘All in a Day’s Work’ and it’s about bitches that make it look easy,” said Aubrey before they worked up a sweat to the ladies’ anthem.

The group capped off the evening with their 2008 hit “Damaged,” leaving their fans begging for more.

Danity Kane Performs Live on ‘KTLA Morning News’

Danity Kane

Danity Kane returned to television for their first performance in years on Friday. Dawn, Aubrey, Shannon, and Aundrea made an early morning visit to L.A. station KTLA while promoting their comeback. After a quick interview, they performed a live acoustic version of “Poetry” off their 2008 album Welcome to the Dollhouse.

“We really wanted to come back and unite and correct the wrongs in the past and really redefine ourselves and not allow anyone to put an ending on something that we felt was legendary,” said Aubrey of their decision to get back together.

They have been in the studio working on a new album, which will incorporate acoustic elements. “I think before a lot of it was done for us, and now it’s ours,” said Aundrea, while Dawn added, “This time around, we’re gonna let our genres shine.”

On Monday, they will perform their first show in five years before a sold-out crowd at L.A.’s House of Blues.

Rap-Up TV: Danity Kane Dishes on New Album, Diddy, & Leaving Solo Careers Behind

Danity Kane’s comeback is in full effect. After announcing their first show in five years, tickets sold out in 24 hours. The ladies will perform their hits and new material for the first time at L.A.’s House of Blues on December 16.

In Part 2 of our interview, Aubrey, Dawn, Shannon, and Aundrea discuss their upcoming album. The group has been in the studio with hitmakers including The Stereotypes, Da Internz, The Underdogs, Ester Dean, James Fauntleroy, Dem Jointz, and Rob Knox.

They are also hoping to work with Miguel and Pharrell. “Pharrell is pretty phenomenal,” Shannon told Rap-Up TV. “We’ve always had Pharrell on our list.”

Aubrey shared an embarrassing story about running into The Neptunes hitmaker at the VMAs. “I fell through a chair and landed on his lap,” she said. “There’s a lot of women that try to get in Pharrell’s lap and it just naturally happened for me.”

Diddy discovered the girls on MTV’s “Making the Band,” but he won’t be involved in the next chapter of their career. However, they still wish him well.

“We wish him the best and we hope that he wishes us the best. Hopefully we’ll see him at the Grammys in a year,” said Aubrey, adding, “Maybe he’ll bring us cheesecake.”

Prior to reuniting, they were pursuing solo careers, but they’ve put them on hold to focus solely on Danity Kane. “We’re back in Danity Kane. We’re here, we’re focused,” said Aubrey. “We left our solo careers and all the things that we pushed and believed in and fought for and we are committing to this situation and this group and we plan on having a long career.”
