Grammy Week was in full swing as music’s brightest stars came out to honor Interscope chairman Jimmy Iovine at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards Producers & Engineers Wing event at the Village in Los Angeles. From Dr. Dre to Stevie Nicks, the room was full of artists of all genres. Skylar Grey kicked off the evening with a medley of her hits and Mary J. Blige, will.i.am, and Polow Da Don were among those who saluted the music visionary.

Not only did Dr. Dre show up to Rick Ross’ birthday bash in Miami, he also presented the Bawse with a lavish gift. The West Coast vet threw down $100,000 on a diamond-encrusted Hublot watch for his new pal.

While in town, the two also hit the studio. “Just spoke to my biggest musical influence for the 1st time,” Rozay previously tweeted. “Dr. Dre just changed my life with a phone call.”

Diddy, Ne-Yo, Cassie, Wiz Khalifa, and Amber Rose were also among the VIP guests at Amnesia for the weekend-long festivities.

What would a Dr. Dre and Pharrell collaboration sound like? We may soon find out. The music masterminds were in the lab together over the weekend, crafting some sonic goodies with Snoop Dogg. During his trip to Miami, the Doc also logged studio time with Rick Ross. Now if only he would stop teasing us and release some new music.

Rick Ross showed his idol Dr. Dre a good time during his trip to Miami this week. The West Coast vet flew into town to hit the studio with the Maybach Music boss, but also made time to celebrate.

“Got Dr. Dre in Miami all week..my Bday party @ Club Amnesia Hosted by @iamdiddy Sunday will be like never before,” tweeted Rozay, who earlier received a call from Dre.

“Just spoke to my biggest musical influence for the 1st time,” he wrote. “Dr. Dre just changed my life with a phone call.”

DJ Khaled hinted at what’s to come. “I told yall the game was going change well hre’s a gift,” he wrote. “stay tuned!”

Nelly paid a visit to music’s resident doctor, Dr. Dre. The St. Louis rapper hit the studio for a late-night recording session with the West Coast icon on Monday, tweeting a photo from the lab.

“WOW in studio wit the legend dairy @drdre,” shared Nelly, who released his mixtape O.E.MO on Christmas Eve.

Nelly is working on the follow-up to 2010’s 5.0. Meanwhile, Coachella headliner Dre has decided to take a break from recording his long-awaited Detox.

Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg will throw a gangsta party in the desert this April. The West Coast icons have been announced as co-headliners for this year’s Coachella Music & Arts Festival.

The dynamic duo will perform their hip-hop classics on the final day of the three-day festival, which will run for two consecutive weekends on April 13-15 and April 20-22 in Indio, Calif. Previous headliners include Prince, Jay-Z, Kanye West, and the Beastie Boys.

This year’s lineup also includes newcomers Frank Ocean, Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd, Azealia Banks, and A$AP Rocky. Check out the official flyer for a full list of performers.

Rick Ross is not playing around. Fresh off the release of his star-studded mixtape Rich Forever, the Teflon Don turned his attention back to his fifth album God Forgives, I Don’t.

Over the weekend, the Miami MC hit the lab with super-producer Timbaland, who provided him with some of his signature beats. “In studio w/ Timbaland.get’n priceless music x advice,” tweeted Rozay.

Timbo is not the only music maestro connecting with the Bawse. He also received a call from Jay-Z and his idol Dr. Dre following the release of his tape. “Just spoke to my biggest musical influence for the 1st time,” wrote Rozay. “Dr. Dre just changed my life with a phone call.”

T.I. throws a gangsta party with Dr. Dre on “Popped Off,” their completed collaboration off Tip’s new mixtape F*ck Da City Up. “It’s been a while since ya’ll heard these beats, you’re malnourished/ But he’s back now to flood these streets and shall flourish,” raps the Doc over the Dre-produced beat, which samples Kool & the Gang’s “Summer Madness.”

“He got hot beats and I got dope rhymes, so we can always get together and make music,” Tip told MTV News of working with the West Coast icon. “But for people to feel what we’re sayin’ and for it to sound like a party comin’ through your speakers, you gonna have to create some chemistry. So that’s what we spent more time doin’ than anything else; developing that chemistry.”

ATL meets LAX when T.I. links up with Dr. Dre in the studio in a new trailer for his mixtape Fuck Da City Up, dropping on New Year’s Day. Tip raps in the booth as the West Coast icon mans the boards in the black-and-white teaser. It’s unconfirmed if the song playing in the background is their collaboration.

The year was 1992 and Dr. Dre was on a high after releasing his iconic album The Chronic. To promote the project, Death Row Records produced a holiday commercial in which a fresh-faced Andre Young was seen kissing a hottie under the mistletoe.

“What makes it more happy under the mistletoe this Christmas?” asked the narrator in a Jamaican accent. The Chronic, of course.
