New Music: Tinashe – ‘Days in the West’ (Drake Cover)

After Drake and OB OBrien remixed her single “2 On,” Tinashe returns the favor with her take on Drizzy’s “Days in the East.” The L.A. songstress channels Aaliyah on the breathy slow jam, on which she reps her West Coast roots and calls out Internet bullies.

“You’re showing me how deep your ignorance is with your comments,” she sings.

Tinashe is working on her RCA Records debut Aquarius, which is expected to feature A$AP Rocky and Future.

Rap-Up TV: Nicki Minaj Talks New Single, ‘Tha Carter V,’ and Drake

The buzz has been building for Nicki Minaj’s third album, and the time has finally come for her to drop the first single. Before she hit the stage at PowerHouse 2014 on Saturday, the Young Money diva dished to Rap-Up TV about the track, which is expected to debut on Wednesday.

“It feels very uplifting and it feels very soulful,” she shared. “It’s a great, I feel, indicator of what The Pink Print will feel like in terms of the storyline of that song.”

The album, due sometime this year, marks a return to her roots. “The Pink Print will remind people why they fell in love with Nicki Minaj,” she added. “And I think that needs to be done.”

She also revealed that Lil Wayne has sent her a track for his final album Tha Carter V. “He did send me something, but you know Wayne is so unpredictable,” she said. “You never know what’s going to make it until the last, very last ending. But you know, Wayne is my baby and I love him.”

Beyoncé, Jay Z, & Drake Attend Nets vs. Raptors Game

Jay Z and Beyoncé

The stars were on and off the court at Game 6 of the Eastern Conference playoffs between the Brooklyn Nets and Toronto Raptors at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Friday.

Bed-Stuy’s own Fabolous kicked off the game by introducing the starting lineup for his home team.

Before they go “On the Run” this summer, Beyoncé and Jay Z shared a courtside date night. Mr. Carter, decked out in a gray Nets sweatshirt and Timbs, cheered on his home team, while his wife donned a leather motorcycle jacket.

Drake, sans lint roller, was just seats away rooting for his Toronto Raptors alongside actress Ellen Pompeo. The Nets had some fun at his expense by placing a computerized Nets jersey on him on the Jumbotron as Jay Z’s “PSA” played (check the Vine below).

The Nets defeated the Raptors, 97-83, to force Game 7.
