New Music: Elle Varner f/ Wale – ‘Rover’

Rover

Elle Varner rolls into 2014 with her sultry new song “Rover” featuring Wale. The 24-year-old songstress effortlessly rides the silky beat, while the MMG MC kicks it into high gear with his verse.

“I’m gonna make you feel like you never touched a girl before/ When I come over tonight,” she coos over the Eric Hudson and Elijah Blake production.

Elle has been in the studio with Pop & Oak, Eric Hudson, DJ Dahi, Da Internz, and Hit-Boy working on her sophomore album.

“My new album is unbelievable. I have to keep reminding myself that it’s real,” she told Rap-Up TV of the follow-up to her 2012 debut Perfectly Imperfect. “Everybody says to me, ‘Congratulations! Sophomore slump, what?’ and that’s all I gotta say about it. Get ready because it is unbelievable.”

Take her “Rover” for a spin below.

New Music: Kid Ink f/ Elle Varner & MGK – ‘No Miracles’

My Own Lane

Kid Ink takes it from the club (“Show Me”) to the stadium on “No Miracles” featuring Elle Varner and Machine Gun Kelly. The L.A. rapper looks fear in the eye on the empowering rock-tinged record, co-produced by Sham.

“It’s probably one of the biggest-sounding records on the album, as far as a big stadium sound,” Kid Ink told Rap-Up TV. “MGK is a heartfelt dude, I had him on my ‘Hell & Back’ song. This is kinda like the same vibe where it’s really gonna have people rocking out, maybe shedding a tear when we have the show.”

Due January 7, his major label debut My Own Lane also features appearances from Pusha T, August Alsina, Maejor Ali, and Chris Brown.

Get pumped up to his motivational anthem.

Elle Varner: ‘My New Album Is Unbelievable’

Elle Varner is super psyched about her sophomore album. Instead of playing it cool, the “Refill” singer proudly spoke about her new music at the ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards.

She has a title in mind, but hasn’t fully committed to it. “I wouldn’t even be able to tell you ’cause it’s not a word,” she said. “If it’s the title that I go with, it will be something that hasn’t been done before.”

She has been in the studio with hitmakers including Pop & Oak, Eric Hudson, DJ Dahi, Da Internz, and Hit-Boy. Look out for the first single in the coming weeks.

Story, Wale was in disbelief (“Lotus Flower Bomb” was nominated for Best Rap Song), and Rihanna shared her three nominations with her fans.

But not everyone was celebrating. Justin Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun took to Twitter to vent about the pop superstar’s shutout.
