Some Shady characters are plotting their assault on hip-hop this spring. Rap outfit Slaughterhouse is readying its Shady Records/Interscope debut welcome to: OUR HOUSE. Executive produced by Eminem, the second album from Crooked I, Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, and Royce da 5’9” will arrive on May 15. Fans will get a first listen to the group’s new material next week.

Additionally, Slaughterhouse is rolling out a U.S. tour. The 43-date trek kicks off March 8 in Dallas, passing through Miami, Atlanta, New York, and Los Angeles, before winding down in Boston on May 3.

Yelawolf keeps it country on “Throw It Up,” one of the highlights off his Shady Records debut Radioactive (Nov. 21). The Alabama rapper links up with former Three 6 Mafia member Gangsta Boo (“Not Nicki, I’m worser, I’ll hurt ya”) and his label boss Eminem, who steals the show with his spitfire rhymes. Hip-hop icons meet rock royalty in GQ‘s November issue. Eminem and Lil Wayne share the cover of the men’s magazine with Rolling Stones member Keith Richards.

The men were honored as “gods of rock” in a special package called “The Survivors.” The photo portfolio pays tribute to the greatest living music masters and was shot by famed photographer Mark Seliger.

Through trials and tribulations, these superstars have persevered and for this they’ve been recognized by GQ. OutKast’s André 3000 and Big Boi, Erykah Badu, and Raekwon are among the 46 artists featured in the magazine.

The issue is available October 25 at newsstands nationwide.

Bad really met evil when Tyler, the Creator ran into Eminem. The rappers, both no strangers to controversy, recently posed backstage at the Tennent’s ViTal music festival in Ireland. It was a dream come true for the Odd Future frontman, who grew up idolizing Slim Shady.

“Fuckkkkk O My Atheist God,” tweeted Tyler, winner of the Moonman for Best New Artist at the 2011 VMAs. “Goal List Check: I Told Him Relapse Was One Of The Greatest Albums To Me.”

Em returned the love when he co-signed Tyler and his OFWGKTA crew. “I’ve heard enough to know that it feels like they’re pushing boundaries and buttons, and that’s definitely one of the things that I’m familiar with, especially when I first came out,” he told MTV News. “I love it, I love the fact that they’re doing that. And the dudes can rhyme.”

Eminem and Royce Da 5’9” ignite the fire within in the aspirational video for “Lighters,” their top 5 collaboration with Bruno Mars off the Bad Meets Evil EP Hell: The Sequel. The Rich Lee-directed clip shows footage of the Detroit MCs before they made it big, a blonde Em sitting on his couch trying to write rhymes and Royce rapping behind bars. They both escape their old lives and triumphantly emerge on the other side. Co-star Bruno plays the piano to the empowering tune as the sky lights up with lanterns.

YouTube sensation Karmin takes a stab at Bad Meets Evil and Bruno Mars’ smash “Lighters” with their cleaned-up cover. Amy busts Eminem and Royce’s rhymes and plays the guitar, while Nick holds down Bruno’s hook. The engaged duo, who was recently signed to Epic Records by L.A. Reid, had to relocate to a studio to record their latest video after their neighbors banged on the wall telling them to turn it down.

Eminem closed out the first day of the U.K.’s V Festival with special guest Rihanna. The Bajan babe, who performed her own set earlier in the day at Stafford’s Weston Park, emerged from the side of the stage to duet with Marshall Mathers on their smash “Love the Way You Lie.” Thanks to YouTube, you can watch some fan-filmed footage below.

Jay-Z proclaimed J. Cole’s debut Cole World a “classic,” and now Eminem is praising his protégé Yelawolf’s upcoming album.

The Alabama rapper’s major label debut Radioactive is due October 25 via Ghet-O-Vision/Shady Records/DGC/Interscope, featuring the Lil Jon-assisted single “Hard White (Up in the Club)” produced by Hydrox.

“We are very eager for the world to hear Radioactive and proud to be presenting the album on Shady Records,” said Eminem. “Yelawolf is a true original and he has crafted an incredible record.”

The album boasts production from Diplo, The Audibles, SupahotBeats, and J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League. “Radioactive is the fallout of my life’s inspirations, a testament to my ability to survive it all and to tell the story,” explained Yelawolf. “Sometimes I want to party, sometimes I want to fight, and sometimes I want to cry. I’m human and this album is as honest as it gets.”

Yelawolf previously released Trunk Muzik 0-60, compiled of material from his Trunk Muzik mixtape along with previously unavailable tracks.

Royce Da 5’9” can relate to Watch the Throne’s No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200. As one half of Bad Meets Evil, the Detroit MC topped the charts with Hell: The Sequel, his collaborative effort with Eminem. So what does he think of Jay-Z and Kanye West’s album? Royce speaks out on Throne’s importance to hip-hop and the differences between the rap duo’s projects.

“I think it’s real good for hip-hop that they did that,” Royce tells Rap-Up.com. “We put ours out, they put theirs out, Drake and Weezy allegedly putting one out. On the other end of the spectrum, you got Gucci and Waka putting one out. It’s good to have that balance. I don’t know if I would compare our project to theirs, if only because they’re so different.”

Royce, who just released his solo album Success Is Certain, went on to contrast Bad Meets Evil’s style—composing a few songs at first with no initial plan for an EP—with Throne’s constructed thematic vibe. “They went more for the album feel. It sounds like they were 100 percent comfortable with putting this sound of music out and it’s the same with us,” he explains. “We went in there and did kind of the opposite; just going back and forth and sparring lyrically. We just tried to rap on another level and didn’t try and worry about making a complete album.”

While Throne’s genesis goes back nearly a year, with a massive promotional buildup planned for months prior to the album’s release, Royce said he and Em consciously took a more low-key approach. “Our thing was we didn’t even want to raise expectations,” he admits. “We just wanted to announce we were doing it after we were already done and put it out 30 days later. Let hip-hop get a dose of what we could do and not worry about anything else.”
