Odd Future, Erykah Badu Start a Riot at SXSW

West Coast collective Odd Future stole the show at the Fader Fort during the South by Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas, on Friday (March 18). The raucous crew performed cuts from their respective releases including leader Tyler, the Creator’s single “Yonkers,” rocking ski masks over their faces and prompting the crowd to chant “Golf Wang” as they stage dove into the audience.

The up-and-comers shared the stage with Erykah Badu, who played the drums with indie duo Matt & Kim, who inspired her controversial “Window Seat” video. The overall-clad soulstress posed for a picture backstage with Tyler. “I Fu**ing Love Her,” he previously tweeted about Badu.

Erykah Badu provides a sequel to the video that sparked a thousand debates. In the continuation to the controversial “Window Seat,” we find out that Badu was not killed and instead arrested. She gets scooped up from jail by Rick Ross in his Porsche Panamera Turbo. After switching cars, the odd couple cruises Dallas until they get into some more trouble.

“She most definitely is a super talented individual,” Ross told MTV News of his collaborator. “She’s the definition of a strong woman. I’m proud for her to be a strong black woman, just to see her so hands-on with her career.”

Erykah Badu Forced to Cancel Show, Shoots Video with Rick Ross

Stormy weather and a power outage caused Erykah Badu to cancel her show at Chene Park in Detroit on Friday (June 4). Badu delivered the disappointing news to concertgoers. The show has been rescheduled to August 12.

The soul songstress recently shot a video for the remix to “Window Seat” with Rick Ross. In the clip, the Bawse comes to bail Badu out of jail in his Porsche Panamera Turbo. “We continuing where the first ‘Window Seat’ ended,” he told MTV News. “Where she was assassinated and ultimately scooped up and arrested.” The video then segues into her new single “Get Money.”
