Video: Estelle – ‘Conqueror’

Estelle

After parting ways with Atlantic Records, Estelle ventures out on her own with her independent label Established 1980 Inc./BMG Rights. The British songstress proves that nothing can stop her in the inspirational video for “Conqueror,” the lead single off her upcoming album True Romance.

In the black-and-white clip, a male dancer turns his body into a canvas to drive home the powerful message.

“I’d rather stand tall than live on my knees / ‘Cause I am conqueror and I won’t accept defeat,” sings Estelle on the uplifting anthem.

Due November 4, her fourth album True Romance is comprised of four themes—passion, courage, true romance, and the bullshit.

“Every song fits into one of these themes,” said Estelle. “This is a real body of work, just like when you do an art piece, or when you have all these awesome images on your Instagram. You want people to see the full you.”

New Music: Estelle – ‘Conqueror’

Conqueror

Estelle came to win. Following the release of last year’s Love & Happiness EP series, the British songstress leads the march to victory on her triumphant anthem “Conqueror.”

“I’d rather stand tall than live on my knees / ‘Cause I am conqueror and I won’t accept defeat,” sings a resilient Estelle.

On November 4, she will release her fourth album True Romance, which follows her journey back to love.

“I had to figure out who I was again. I had ask to myself questions like, ‘What kinds of things do I like?’” Estelle told USA Today. “This album is about the time in between breaking up with someone and becoming happy again. That time that you’re just existing. No one goes straight to happiness after a breakup.”

The official music video will premiere July 21 on VH1 Soul. In the meantime, Estelle has called on ballet dancer Misty Copeland to bring “Conqueror” to life through dance.

Video: Estelle – ‘Make Her Say (Beat It Up)’

Estelle

Estelle celebrates sexual empowerment in the video for “Make Her Say (Beat It Up)” off her EP Love & Happiness: How Stella Got Her Groove Back.

The British songstress challenges the stereotypes of beauty by casting everyday couples in the provocative clip. They undress each other and make love in the intimate bedroom scenes.

“This song is a part of a whole statement on what it means to be in a real relationship, on your terms,” said Estelle. “It represents ownership and embracing all of yourself as a human, plus good sex is always necessary.”

Estelle’s upcoming fourth album, due later this year, will focus on the themes of passion, courage, true romance, and the bullshit.

Go behind closed doors with Estelle.
