Ariana Grande has found herself a new bad boy. After linking with Mac Miller, the 20-year-old pop star calls on Fabolous for the remix to her single “The Way.” Loso lays down a radio-friendly verse (“I love the way you make me feel/ My thirsty ex gets no refill”), while Ariana hits her signature high notes.
Her debut album is due August 20. She plans to announce the title on Monday.
Jay-Z has a lot to celebrate. In addition to his upcoming album Magna Carta Holy Grail and lucrative deal with Samsung Mobile, the hip-hop mogul toasted the 10th anniversary of his 40/40 Club in New York on Monday night. Some of his famous friends in the music and sports industry dressed up and turned out to the star-studded bash.
Jay looked sharp in a grey suit, while his boo Beyoncé stunned in a white Roberto Cavalli dress with a plunging neckline.
T.I. and Tiny held court with Mr. and Mrs. Carter in VIP and Amar’e Stoudemire and Roc Nation Sports’ own Robinson Cano were in the building.
Guests including Maxwell, Kylie Minogue, Fabolous, Busta Rhymes, Meek Mill, Adrienne Bailon, and RaVaughn Brown sipped D’Usse cocktails as DJ FirstChoice and DJ Big Jeff provided the evening’s soundtrack.

Nicki Minaj and Lil’ Kim both touched the stage at Summer Jam XX on Sunday. While Nicki was a guest of 2 Chainz, Lil’ Kim had MetLife Stadium buzzing when she surprised during Fabolous’ set. The Queen Bee performed “Queen Bitch” off her debut Hard Core.
“When we talk about the ni**as who be killin’ it from Brooklyn, it was only right that we got the queen out here,” said Fab.
There were also rumors that Foxy Brown was supposed to appear during Loso’s set, but she was running late.
After catering to the ladies on “Ready” with Chris Brown, Fabolous feeds the streets with his new single “When I Feel Like It.” Loso teams with his Def Jam labelmate 2 Chainz for the David D.A. Doman-produced anthem.
Loso’s Way 2: Rise to Power is due in late July featuring Future, Young Jeezy, Rick Ross, Ne-Yo, and Trey Songz.
“I’ma give you what I do and some collaborations here and there, but definitely some evolution as an artist, as a man, as a father, as a friend,” Loso told Rap-Up TV of the sequel to 2009’s Loso’s Way. “Just talking about some real shit and still doing what I do, giving you some witty lines, giving you some catchy stuff for the ladies. Just good music overall.”
Fabolous is currently traveling across the country with Pusha T on “The Life Is So Exciting” tour, which wraps next month. Fresh off the stage at Club Nokia in L.A. last Friday, Loso caught up backstage with Rap-Up TV.
Surrounded by ladies and his friend Trey Songz (who he brought out to perform with Cassie), the Brooklyn MC told us what to expect from his upcoming album Loso’s Way 2: Rise to Power.
“Just a little bit of growth. I’ma give you what I do and some collaborations here and there, but definitely some evolution as an artist, as a man, as a father, as a friend,” he said of the sequel to 2009’s Loso’s Way. “Just talking about some real shit and still doing what I do, giving you some witty lines, giving you some catchy stuff for the ladies. Just good music overall.”
The album will feature collaborations with Future, Young Jeezy, Rick Ross, Ne-Yo, 2 Chainz, and Trey Songz, who was in the room during the interview.
Previously due June 18, Loso’s Way 2 will now arrive in late July (either the 23rd or 30th). “We actually pushed back a little bit. We needed to handle some technicalities.”
Twelve years after releasing his debut, Fab feels confident about his status in the game. “I’m cool, I’m blessed, and God has blessed me to be here,” he said. “This is a young man’s game, so it’s a blessing just to be here still now.”
He plans to do some acting, but music remains his focus. “I definitely want to get more present in the game.”
After her collaborations with Rick Ross and Wiz Khalifa, Cassie links up with Fabolous on “I Love It,” the latest release off her mixtape RockaByeBaby. The Bad Girl, or “Cassilina” as Loso calls her, takes us behind the scenes as she shoots in an underground club in the Chris Latouche-directed clip.
Over the weekend, Fab brought out Cassie to perform “Diced Pineapples” with him and Trey Songz at his L.A. show at Club Nokia.
