Moments after paying tribute to Chris Lighty at the BET Hip Hop Awards, Fat Joe takes to Twitter to debut his new single “Instagram That Hoe” featuring Rick Ross and Juicy J.
“All my bad bitches report to Instagram right now,” commands Joey Crack on the rattling anthem dedicated to the photo-sharing phenomenon. “Instagram that hoe, Instagram her mama, Instagram that bitch on the top of the whip while she giving me knowledge.”
No word where this social media-inspired track will ultimately end up, but Fat Joe is sure to gain a few new Instagram followers tonight.
While Rick Ross and Young Jeezy were brawling backstage, 50 Cent and Fat Joe were making peace onstage. The notorious rivals squashed their beef at the BET Hip Hop Awards.
Fat Joe smooths it out on the R&B-laced remix to his single “Pride N Joy.” While the original featured hip-hop heavyweights Kanye West, Jadakiss, and Busta Rhymes, Joey Crack adds a touch of sophistication with Trey Songz, Ashanti, and Miguel, plus a tough verse from Pusha T.
Fat Joe pays tribute to the late Chris Lighty on the touching remix to Slaughterhouse’s Boi-1da-produced single “Goodbye” off their Shady Records debut welcome to: OUR HOUSE.
“If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here,” raps Joey Crack about his mentor, who was found dead last week after an apparent suicide. “When you get to heaven, tell Pun we miss him.”
Crooked I, Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, and Royce da 5’9” also recall fond memories of the fallen soldiers in their lives.
Hip-hop hooray. Fat Joe brings together his peers in the star-studded video for “Pride N Joy” featuring Kanye West, Miguel, Jadakiss, DJ Khaled, Roscoe Dash, and Busta Rhymes. Joey Crack shot the video in Brooklyn with famed director Hype Williams. Each of his co-stars came through the studio to film their scenes including his “What’s Luv?” collaborator Ashanti. And it wouldn’t be a Hype video without some voluptuous video vixens.
“I think hip-hop needs to see unity,” said Joe. “This whole song been about unity, bring back that De La Soul, that Tribe [Called Quest].”
After taking us behind the scenes, Fat Joe debuts the trailer for “Pride N Joy,” his star-studded single featuring Kanye West, DJ Khaled, Roscoe Dash, Miguel, Jadakiss, Ashanti, and Busta Rhymes. Sneak a peek at the Hype Williams-directed clip below.
Fat Joe was joined by some of his famous friends including Kanye West while shooting the Hype Williams-directed video for his feature-heavy single “Pride N Joy” last month in New York.
“I got a phone call from Kanye West. He said, ‘Yo Joe, it’s time. Let’s do it,’” Joey Crack told MTV News. “He’s one of my favorite rappers of all time, one of my favorite producers, so when he gave me the call, I jumped on that plane immediately and I said, ‘Let’s go.’”
The clip also features appearances from Jadakiss and Miguel. “The vibe is chill when you’re working with good people,” said the “Adorn” singer. “It completely sets a different tone. It’s not stressful, it’s real easy, and professional as well.”
Busta Rhymes made his cameo en route to the airport. “If I miss my plane, I’m suing Joe Crack my brother,” he joked before making a quick exit.
The stars aligned on set of Fat Joe’s video for his posse cut “Pride N Joy.” A slimmer Joey Crack, who shed nearly 100 pounds last year, was joined by Kanye West, Miguel, Jadakiss, DJ Khaled, Roscoe Dash, and Busta Rhymes while shooting the clip with famed director Hype Williams in New York over the weekend. Ashanti even showed up to support her “What’s Luv?” collaborator.
“Uh ohhhhhh me @joeycrackts @roscoedash & @djkhaled I’m always the only girl! Smh,” tweeted the R&B songstress.
