Frank Ocean, Rita Ora Set to Open for Coldplay’s European Tour

Frank Ocean and Rita Ora are bringing their music to the masses. The much-buzzed-about newcomers will join Coldplay on the band’s stadium tour through Europe this summer.

The 22-date trek kicks off May 18 in Porto, Portugal, before traveling through France, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark, and other European countries with various opening acts including Ocean, Ora, Robyn, Ash, and Marina & the Diamonds.

Jay-Z’s friendship with frontman Chris Martin helped score his Roc Nation signee Ora an opening spot. The blonde singer will tour with the band in May and June in Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, and the U.K. Her debut is due this summer featuring the singles “How We Do (Party)” and the Drake-penned “R.I.P.”

Odd Future crooner Ocean, who covered Coldplay’s “Strawberry Swing” on his free album Nostalgia, Ultra, will debut new material when the tour touches down in Denmark, Sweden, France, and Germany in August and September. “Setlist full of that new new too. Man o man!” he wrote.

Frank Ocean casts a spell on the enchanting “Voodoo,” which he released via his Tumblr page. The Odd Future crooner sings about a couple whose love is the only thing that remains true in darker times.

“She’s got the whole wide world in her juicy fruit/ He’s got the whole wide world in his pants,” he effortlessly sings on the 97-second track.

Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg

Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg will throw a gangsta party in the desert this April. The West Coast icons have been announced as co-headliners for this year’s Coachella Music & Arts Festival.

The dynamic duo will perform their hip-hop classics on the final day of the three-day festival, which will run for two consecutive weekends on April 13-15 and April 20-22 in Indio, Calif. Previous headliners include Prince, Jay-Z, Kanye West, and the Beastie Boys.

This year’s lineup also includes newcomers Frank Ocean, Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd, Azealia Banks, and A$AP Rocky. Check out the official flyer for a full list of performers.
