Future Previews Nicki Minaj ‘Rockstar’ Collaboration

Future and Nicki Minaj

Future’s collaboration with Nicki Minaj didn’t make the tracklisting for Honest, and now we know why. The rapper previewed their “Rockstar” record during an album listening session in New York on Tuesday.

The DJ Clue-produced song features a sample of George Michael’s ’80s hit “Careless Whisper.”

But it will not be included on Future’s sophomore album because the British pop icon did not clear the sample. Future finally got the record cleared after changing the sampled hook, but Nicki was no longer interested.

During the listening, Future encouraged journalists to record the song and leak it, and a couple of them did just that. Listen to some clips below.
