Super Bowl XLVI festivities got underway in Indianapolis on Thursday. B.o.B and Gym Class Heroes headlined VH1’s “Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam” at the Pepsi Coliseum. Bobby Ray served up his hits including “Don’t Let Me Fall” and “Strange Clouds,” while GCH frontman Travie McCoy was joined by Maroon 5’s Adam Levine for “Stereo Hearts,” setting off sparks with orange-haired newcomer Neon Hitch on their hit collaboration “Ass Back Home.” Watch the electrifying performances below.

Gym Class Heroes frontman Travie McCoy deals with the challenges of a long-distance relationship in the video for “Ass Back Home,” the second single from the band’s new album The Papercut Chronicles II. Red-haired songstress Neon Hitch plays the love interest of Travie in the clip, which was filmed while the group was on tour in Europe.

“‘Ass Back Home’ is all about trying to keep a relationship going while we’re all out on the road all the time,” Travie told Ryan Seacrest about the Benny Blanco production. “The song was actually inspired by Matt’s [drummer] relationship with his girlfriend and realizing why he is so Zen on the road.”

Gym Class Heroes took their “Ass Back Home” to “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” on Thursday (Dec. 8). The band was joined by up-and-comer Neon Hitch, making her late-night television debut. Frontman Travie McCoy and the red-haired songstress put their chemistry on display as they dueted on the flirty single off GCH’s new album The Papercut Chronicles II.

Maroon 5 showed off their fancy footwork while performing “Moves Like Jagger” at the AMAs. Following an introduction from Bruno Mars, Adam Levine and the rest of the band dueted with a curvy Christina Aguilera on the chart-topping duet. Levine broke from the group to lend his voice to Gym Class Heroes’ single “Stereo Hearts” as their sounds emanated from the giant boombox onstage.

Estelle banded with Gym Class Heroes on Thursday’s “Tonight Show with Jay Leno.” Radiant in red, the R&B songstress filled in for Maroon 5′s Adam Levine while performing the group’s hit single off their newly released album The Papercut Chronicles II. Estelle is gearing up for the release of her own album All of Me in February.

Gym Class Heroes gets in the ring with Ryan Tedder on “The Fighter,” an uplifting cut off the band’s new album The Papercut Chronicles II (Nov. 15). The OneRepublic frontman lends his production skills and vocals to the empowering anthem.

“If you fall, pick yourself up off the floor/ And when your bones can’t take no more/ Just remember what you’re here for,” sings Travie McCoy, while Tedder echoes words of encouragement.

“It’s basically about him being so busy on the road that he can’t be around all the time, and the girls is like, ‘I know you’re busy and all, but sometimes you just need to get ass back home,’” producer Benny Blanco told Grantland.

Gym Class Heroes frontman Travie McCoy may be going solo, but he hasn’t forgotten about the band.

The foursome is prepping a new studio album for release “sometime next year,” Travie tells Rap-Up.com. “We’ve been working on it. I think the next Gym Class album is going to be a lot more introspective and personal. It’s like four dudes in a room just vibing off each other and it’s just deeper.” The group’s last album The Quilt was released in 2008.

But before he gets serious, Travie will let loose with his feel-good solo album Lazarus, due just in time for summer on June 8. “[Lazarus] is actually going to be more fun. I didn’t want to put too much of my personal life in there. It’s more of a lighthearted, laid-back kind of album from start to finish,” he explained. “At this point in my life, I’m much happier than I was going into this album. There were a couple of songs that I scrapped because I felt that they brought the record down. I wanted to keep it upbeat and keep everybody smiling.”

Travie has already put a smile on listeners’ faces with his hit single “Billionaire” featuring Bruno Mars. A follow-up single “We’ll Be Alright” is available on iTunes, while a mixtape, Forgetting Katy Perry, is on the way.
