Lil Wayne, Iggy Azalea Invade the Stage at mtvU Woodie Awards

From Beyoncé to The 1975, mtvU celebrated the music college students love at the 2014 mtvU Woodie Awards during SXSW in Austin, Texas, on Thursday. The show, which was taped before a live audience, featured performances from Lil Wayne, Iggy Azalea, Childish Gambino, and more.

Tunechi surprised the crowd by kicking off the show with a freestyle and a verse from “A Milli,” leading into the evening’s first performers, The 1975.

Wiz Khalifa presented Drake with the night’s biggest honor, Woodie of the Year, which his Young Money boss Weezy accepted on his behalf.

Following an introduction from Danny Brown and Steve Aoki, Iggy Azalea had the audience on its feet with a Clueless-inspired performance of “Fancy” featuring Charli XCX.

Childish Gambino closed out the show. After entering from the back of the venue covered in LED lights, the rapper-actor led a marching band to the stage, where he performed a medley of “3005″ and “Sweatpants.”

Beyoncé won the first-ever Did It My Way Woodie, Chance the Rapper took home Best Video Woodie, and A$AP Rocky and Skrillex picked up the Best Collaboration Woodie.

The 2014 mtvU Woodie Awards will air on Sunday, March 16, at 8 p.m. on MTV. See a full list of winners below.

The wait is over. After much anticipation, Iggy Azalea unveils the tracklisting for her debut The New Classic. Due April 22, the 12-track standard edition includes the singles “Work,” “Change Your Life,” and “Fancy,” while three additional tracks are featured on the deluxe.

The Aussie rapper taps Stargate, Timbaland, T.I., Mavado, Watch the Duck, Charli XCX, and Katy Perry, who co-wrote “Black Widow” featuring Rita Ora.

In a 2012 interview with MTV, Iggy explained the album title. “What makes something classic is when you hear it and you have that moment that is a time capsule,” she said. “When I say The New Classic, I just want to make records that give you that moment for fans that they can remember where they were when they heard it.”

The album is now available for pre-order on iTunes. If you purchase it, you will receive the instant track “Impossible Is Nothing.”

Keyshia Cole and Iggy Azalea Remake ‘Mo Money Mo Problems’

Keyshia Cole and Iggy Azalea are joining forces. The Oakland songstress and Aussie rapper have remade a Biggie classic for the upcoming soundtrack to The Other Woman. The song was produced by Irv Gotti, who shared a snippet on Instagram.

Over a sample of the Notorious B.I.G.’s Life After Death single “Mo Money Mo Problems” featuring Puff Daddy and Ma$e, Iggy can be heard rapping while Keyshia sings the familiar hook.

“Ni**as be catching me in my mode. Hahah. @keyshiacole and @thenewclassic shit sounds great,” said Irv. “[Director] Nick Cassavetes loves it @paul_smenus so I’m happy! Y’all will hear it in its entirety soon enough. And it’s in The Other Woman Movie.”

The romantic comedy, starring Nicki Minaj, Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann, and Kate Upton, hits theaters April 25.

Video: Iggy Azalea f/ Charli XCX – ‘Fancy’

Nearly 20 years after Clueless hit theaters, Iggy Azalea pays homage to the 1995 cult classic in the cinematic video for “Fancy” co-starring Charli XCX. The Aussie rap sensation rules the halls of Beverly Hills High School as socialite Cher Horowitz (Alicia Silverstone) in the X-directed clip.

The blonde bombshell filmed at the same high school where Clueless was shot, inviting 250 fans to be a part of the video. She rocked a ’90s wardrobe straight out of Cher’s designer closet and even shut down the freeway while recreating one scene.

“Iggy and her whole generation kinda grew up on this movie in a way that’s really personal,” said X.

Her debut The New Classic arrives April 15 featuring collaborations with T.I., Mavado, Watch the Duck, and Katy Perry, who co-wrote her next single.
