Beyoncé and Jay-Z Celebrate 5th Anniversary in Cuba

Beyoncé and Jay-Z

Beyoncé and Jay-Z celebrate their fifth anniversary today. To honor the occasion, the superstar couple jetted to Havana, Cuba. They were mobbed by fans as they walked through the streets. Sporting box braids, Beyoncé soaked up the culture as she took photos on her personal camera, while Jay smoked a cigar and wore a straw fedora.

They dined at renowned restaurant La Guarida on Wednesday night with Bey’s mother Tina and Jay’s mother Gloria. Bey enjoyed the honey chicken and sipped daiquiris, and posed with the restaurant staff. Police had to step in to deal with the crowds, who gathered to catch a glimpse of the Carters.

On Thursday, they toured colonial Old Havana and lunched on the rooftop terrace of another restaurant with a majestic view of the harbor.

Jay-Z Calls on Beyoncé, André 3000, Fergie, & Lana Del Rey for ‘Great Gatsby’ Soundtrack

The Great Gatsby

Jay-Z assembles an all-star cast for the soundtrack to The Great Gatsby. The Roc Nation mogul, who serves as executive producer of the film and soundtrack, has worked closely with writer/producer/director Baz Luhrmann on the eclectic project over the past two years, blending the Jazz Age sensibility of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel with hip-hop and traditional jazz.

The Great Gatsby is that classic American story of one’s introduction to extravagance, decadence, and illusion,” said Jay-Z. “It’s ripe for experimentation and ready to be interpreted with a modern twist. The imagination Baz brought to Moulin Rouge! made it a masterpiece, and Romeo + Juliet’s score wasn’t just in the background; the music became a character. This film’s vision and direction has all the makings of an epic experience.”

Jay-Z’s own “No Church in the Wild” is included in the film, along with a new song entitled “100$ Bill.” The first single will be the haunting “Young and Beautiful” by Lana Del Rey.

The diverse lineup also includes original music from Fergie, Q Tip, Florence + The Machine, and will.i.am. Beyoncé and André 3000 duet on a cover of Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black,” Emeli Sandé remakes Beyoncé’s “Crazy in Love,” and Jack White reinterprets U2′s “Love Is Blindness.”

The soundtrack arrives on May 7, while the movie hits theaters on May 10. See the tracklisting and hear a clip of “Back to Black” in the trailer below.

Rap-Up TV: Bridget Kelly Talks Roc Nation Debut, Jay-Z’s Advice, & Grammy Win

Bridget Kelly hasn’t released her debut album yet, but she can already add Grammy winner to her résumé. The Roc Nation singer-songwriter took home her first Grammy last month for co-writing “Einstein” off Kelly Clarkson’s album Stronger.

“It was so humbling to hear that I had won on a song that I didn’t anticipate would go anywhere,” said Bridget, who originally penned the song for her album. “Now that that dream has come into fruition, I feel pressured to figure out what the next dream is.”

Bridget’s dream includes the release of her debut, which features contributions from Shea Taylor, Jerry Wonda, Ne-Yo, The-Dream, and Kendrick Lamar, who appears on the single “Street Dreamin.’”

She’s received plenty of support from her Roc Nation boss Jay-Z, who told her to take her time. “Jay has really been monumental in that he’s really helped coach me along the way, just to continue to be patient with myself and with my process,” she said.

Plus, watch Bridget perform her single “Special Delivery” and a cover of Kings of Leon’s “Use Somebody” for Rap-Up Sessions.

Kendrick Lamar Gets Surprised with Jay-Z’s Remix Verse

Kendrick Lamar

Jay-Z added a verse to Kendrick Lamar’s “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe,” but it turns out Kendrick was the last to know. During a late night session for ScHoolboy Q’s upcoming album OxyMoron, TDE CEO TopDawg surprised the Compton MC with the remix a week after Jay recorded it. They captured his candid reaction as he heard Hov’s voice come through the speakers.

“He bodied that shit,” said a smiling Kendrick. “Damn, that’s grimey.”

Watch him get the ultimate surprise.
