Jay-Z performed a free show in Miami as part of the “Last Chance for Change” rally to register voters on behalf of Barack Obama’s campaign. Jay is collaborating with Coldplay on a remix to “Lost” off the group’s upcoming EP Prospekt’s March.
Jay-Z was honored with a Global Leadership Award at the United Nations Association of the USA’s 2008 Global Leadership Awards gala at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York on Wednesday.
The hip-hop mogul received the award for his visionary leadership of “Water for Life” and his partnership with the United Nations.
T.I. celebrated the release of his new album Paper Trail with a star-studded concert at New York’s Highline Ballroom on Tuesday. He brought out special guests Lupe Fiasco for “Superstar,” Swizz Beatz for “Bring ‘Em Out” and “Swing Ya Rag,” and Jay-Z for “Swagga Like Us.”

MTV UK is reporting that both Jay-Z and Kanye West will release new albums before the end of the year. According to the site, Jay-Z will release “Swagger Like Us” featuring T.I., West, and Lil Wayne as his lead single. It will reportedly be available as a digital download this Saturday, September 6th.
Meanwhile, Kanye West is scheduled to drop his follow-up to Graduation in December. The first single, “Love Lockdown,” is said to debut on Monday.
