Jennifer Hudson, Ed Sheeran Perform on ‘America’s Got Talent’ Finale

Season 9 of “America’s Got Talent” capped off with some superstar guests including Ed Sheeran, Lenny Kravitz, Pitbull, and Jennifer Hudson.

The Grammy-winning diva brought down the house with a dazzling performance of her R. Kelly-assisted single “It’s Your World” off her new album JHUD, due out Tuesday. She then joined contestant Quintavious Johnson for a soaring duet of “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going,” which brought the crowd to its feet.

While he didn’t win the competition, JHUD still praised the 12-year-old. “Quintavious is amazing ! That child can sing!!! That’s right baby , bring back the music! So proud of u!” she tweeted.

Ed Sheeran also hit the “AGT” stage with his acoustic jam “Don’t,” Pitbull performed “Fireball” with the Rockettes, and Lenny Kravitz rocked out with contestant Miguel Dakota on “American Woman.”

Stream Jennifer Hudson’s Album ‘JHUD’

A week before its release, Jennifer Hudson has teamed up with VH1 to stream her third album JHUD in its entirety.

The 10 tracks include the Pharrell-produced single “I Can’t Describe (The Way I Feel)” featuring T.I. and the Timbaland-produced “Walk It Out,” plus appearances from Iggy Azalea and R. Kelly.

“With this album, I feel as though you get a sense of my energy and that’s why we named it JHUD because you’re getting to know the girl and not just the public persona of Jennifer Hudson,” said Hudson of the follow-up to 2011′s I Remember Me. “I want you to know the person.”

JHUD is now available for pre-order on iTunes and Amazon.

Jennifer Hudson heats up the dance floor on the Pharrell-produced “He Ain’t Goin’ Nowhere,” one of the songs off her third album JHUD. The R&B diva keeps her lover satisfied on the disco-tinged number, while Iggy Azalea sets it off with a cocky verse.

“I hope it’s a song people can listen to and let the music do what it’s meant: let go of the shit that holds you back and just take a minute to dance and feel good,” Hudson told BuzzFeed.

JHUD arrives September 23 featuring contributions from T.I., Timbaland, and R. Kelly.

Lupe Fiasco, Common, Jennifer Hudson, & Ariana Grande Perform on ‘Stand Up to Cancer’

The stars came together for a good cause during the 4th biennial “Stand Up to Cancer” event at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Friday. Celebrities including Gwyneth Paltrow, Kerry Washington, and Halle Berry took the stage to help raise money to end cancer during the one-hour telethon, which aired across multiple networks.

Ariana Grande performed her ballad “My Everything” in tribute to her grandfather, who passed away of cancer in July. “Sobbed my eyes out as soon as I got back. idk how he was just here & now he’s not & I’m singing a song in his honor. sucks a lot #fuckcancer,” she tweeted.

Lupe Fiasco closed out the show with Common and Jennifer Hudson. The Chicago natives banded together to perform their fighters’ anthem “Remission” for the first time.

Common was also spotted backstage doing the Nae Nae. “Stop before you hurt someone,” JHUD told him.

New Music: Lupe Fiasco f/ Jennifer Hudson & Common – ‘Remission’

Remission

Lupe Fiasco enlists fellow Chicagoans Jennifer Hudson and Common for “Remission,” the remix to his powerful anthem “Mission,” which was created to empower those facing cancer, celebrate survivors, and remember those lost to cancer-related illnesses.

“If I had a dollar for every time they counted me out / And my back was up against the wall / I could’ve died, but I came out fighting,” sings JHUD on the resilient hook.

The trio will perform the inspiring song for the first time during the “Stand Up To Cancer” telecast on Friday, September 5, at 8 p.m. It will be available at digital retailers following the performance, with all proceeds benefitting Stand Up To Cancer.

Jennifer Hudson Performs on ‘Today’

New York City woke up to the soulful sounds of Jennifer Hudson. Showing off her toned tummy in a “Strong” T-shirt, the powerhouse diva took over Rockefeller Plaza on Tuesday for the “Today” concert series, and belted out “It’s Your World,” “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going,” and her brand new song “Dangerous” off her upcoming album JHUD, due September 23.

“With this album, I feel as though you get a sense of my energy and that’s why we named it JHUD because you’re getting to know the girl and not just the public persona of Jennifer Hudson,” she said. “I want you to know the person.”

She worked with Timbaland and Pharrell on her third LP, which is a departure from her usual big ballads. “That’s all a part of artistry, is reinventing yourself,” she explained. “I don’t believe in being boxed in, or limits.”

In addition to her career, the Oscar and Grammy winner is busy being a mother to her five-year-old son David, who starts kindergarten this week. “I feel like I just had him!” she said.
