Video: Benny Benassi f/ John Legend – ‘Dance the Pain Away’

John Legend searches for an escape in the video for “Dance the Pain Away,” his EDM collaboration with Benny Benassi. Directed by Cameron Duddy, the black-and-white clip takes fans on a scenic drive along L.A.’s Pacific Coast Highway, with Benassi behind the wheel of a classic Porsche 550 Spyder.

The G.O.O.D. Music crooner and French DJ debuted the record live at Coachella in April. Legend originally wrote the song as a guitar ballad for his upcoming album Love in the Future, due September 3.

Jay-Z, Adele, and John Legend Honor Rob Stringer at UJA Luncheon

Some of music’s most powerful artists and moguls gathered to salute Columbia Records chairman Rob Stringer as UJA-Federation Music Visionary of 2013 at The Pierre hotel in New York City on Friday. Jay-Z suited up and mingled with fellow artists Adele and John Legend and music executives L.A. Reid, Doug Morris, and Clive Davis.

Legend, Adele, John Mayer, Neil Diamond, and Haim posed for a group photo with their boss, while some of his artists and colleagues including Celine Dion, Simon Cowell, Pharrell, Barbra Streisand, and Tyler, the Creator recorded messages for a video tribute. “If I could, I’d give him a hand job,” said the Odd Future rapper.

According to Billboard, the event raised a record $1.4 million for Jewish communities around the world via ads placed in the event program.

One of Stringer’s biggest stars, Beyoncé, wasn’t in attendance. However, she took out an ad that featured a photo of her and Stringer as Bonnie and Clyde, writing, “Hit after hit, you have my back.”

John Legend Performs on ‘GMA,’ Announces Tour Dates

New York City woke up to the soulful sounds of John Legend, who performed for “Good Morning America” in Central Park on Friday. The R&B crooner delivered his hit “Tonight (Best You Ever Had)” and his new single “Made to Love” off his upcoming album Love in the Future, due September 3.

“I’m excited. It has been a while since I put a solo album out,” he told Robin Roberts. “It was time for some new music, so we’re ready to go.”

His fiancée Chrissy Teigen has influenced his new sound. “I’m about to get married, so I just wanted to sing songs that reflect my life,” said Legend.

He also announced dates for his “Made to Love” tour, which kicks off on October 21 in New York and wraps in December. See tour dates on his Facebook page.

John Legend masters the art of seduction on “Made to Love,” his futuristic, yet tender new single. The romantic crooner compares his girl to a work of art on the slick number, produced by Dave Tozer and Nana Kwabena, with co-production from Da Internz and Kanye West.

“I was sent here for you/ We were made to love/ You were sent for me too,” he croons over the clanging beat, while Kimbra lends her vocals.

Legend’s fourth solo album Love in the Future, co-produced by West and Tozer, is due September 3.

Rick Ross Hangs with Chelsea Clinton, John Legend at Hope for Children Gala

Rick Ross suited up and showed his support for John Legend at Samsung’s Hope for Children Gala at Cipriani’s in New York on Tuesday. Legend, whose Show Me Campaign uses education to break the cycle of poverty, attended with his fiancée Chrissy Teigen and performed, along with his HomeSchool artist Estelle.

Rozay missed Game 3 of the NBA Finals and held court with Chelsea Clinton at the black-tie affair. “Boss and Chelsey Clinton… Politics as Usual!!!” he wrote.

He applauded his friend for his philanthropy. “We commend @johnlegend ‘Show Me’ campaign for committed work with less fortunate children and families,” said the Bawse.

Legend responded, “thanks brotha. Great to see you.”

John Legend invites you to the party of the year in his sexiest video yet for “Who Do We Think We Are” featuring Rick Ross. The dapper crooner hosts a lavish mansion soirée, where guests dress up and dress down.

In the explicit version of The Great Gatsby-inspired clip, he makes out with half-naked models, who smoke cigarettes and prance around him, while others stay dripped in jewels and boa constrictors.

The G.O.O.D. Music singer’s album Love in the Future, co-produced by Kanye West and Dave Tozer, will arrive on September 3.

John Legend ventures outside the R&B realm on “Dance the Pain Away,” his EDM collaboration with Benny Benassi. The G.O.O.D. Music crooner and DJ debuted the record last night at Coachella in Indio, Calif.

Mr. Legend appeared in a red motorcycle jacket and joined the DJ behind the booth as the crowd in the Sahara Tent danced along.

“How can you dance the pain away?” he sings on the melancholy track.
