Lil Wayne skated into Sin City for Day 1 of the iHeartRadio Music Festival at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Friday. Sporting a TRUKFIT tee, the Young Money boss entertained the sold-out crowd with hit after hit including “Lollipop,” “How to Love,” and his latest single, “No Worries.” Keyshia Cole, rocking her new short hairdo, made a surprise appearance to perform their collaboration “Enough of No Love” for the first time.

But the highlight for Weezy was what happened offstage. “Just got off stage @ da iheart festival & da koolest thing by far was meeting a kid w cancer & his words 2me we’re ‘I ain’t got no worries!’” he tweeted.

“I didn’t fall back, I went harder,” said Keyshia Cole about recording her new album Woman to Woman. After her last album Calling All Hearts underperformed, she went back to the drawing board, giving her fans more of what they want. With her husband Daniel “Boobie” Gibson by her side, the soulful songstress appeared on Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club,” where she discussed her new music, marriage, her mother Frankie and sister Neffe, K. Michelle, and Steve Madden shoe line, in stores in November.

Keyshia Cole returned to “106 & Park” on Wednesday to premiere her video for “Enough of No Love” featuring Lil Wayne. With her husband Daniel Gibson watching from the audience, the R&B songstress discussed her upcoming BET reality show “Keyshia & Daniel: Family First” and fifth album Woman to Woman, both of which will arrive in October.

“This is the first time I’ve written with so many different songwriters,” said Keyshia, who’s been in the studio with Redd Stylez and hopes to get a track from Ester Dean.

She is “taking it back to the basics” with the follow-up to 2010’s Calling All Hearts. “I took myself out of the equation this time around and I focused on my fans, just make sure that they’re gonna be happy.”

A grateful Keyshia thanked her fans for all their support. “I come from Oakland, California, and I’m really excited to be able to pursue my dreams and be able to live my dream,” she said. “I’m taking it to new heights. It’s all love for my fans.”

The Oakland songstress pours her heart out and performs some choreographed moves with her female dancers, while her co-star Lil Wayne delivers his verse on top of a piano.

“Conceptually I wanted to do something that was strictly fashion and beauty and just a little of narrative,” explained director Benny Boom. “I just wanted people to see her come back, just performing crazy. So I came up with this idea of her sort of being in this padded room as if she had lost her mind over love.”

Keyshia Cole commanded the stage with a soulful set on the first day of the ESSENCE Music Festival in New Orleans on Friday. Dressed in white, the blonde songstress had the mostly female audience nodding along as she performed her new single “Enough of No Love” for the first time live, mouthing along to Lil Wayne’s verse.

“Do you guys like it?” she asked the crowd at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. “That is the very first time I’ve performed that song.”

Keyshia’s fifth album Woman to Woman is due later this year.

The sweet sounds of D’Angelo echoed through the Mercedez-Benz Superdome as the ESSENCE Music Festival got underway on Friday. Following his first televised performance in 12 years at the BET Awards last weekend, the ’90s crooner continued his comeback tour with a soulful set on the first day of the three-day festival in New Orleans.

Trey Songz had the ladies screaming his name during his third ESSENCE appearance and Keyshia Cole poured out her heart onstage with her new single “Enough of No Love.”
