Lil Mama keeps her head up on “Hustler Girl,” an empowering anthem she dedicates to all the women who have dealt with adversity. “My verses are speaking from my life and my truth, but at the same time it’s dedicated to all of you,” said the 22-year-old raptress during a recent concert.

She shares her struggles, but still maintains a positive attitude. “When I’m in the ring, I can’t see the pain/ I just shine like MJ and Billie Jean,” she raps, while a male singer provides the breezy hook.

Lil Mama is pouring her pain into her music. After her highly-publicized breakdown during an interview with “The Breakfast Club” in July, the 22-year-old femcee returned to the stage, expressing her emotions through song at the Black Girls Rock! & Soul concert at S.O.B.’s in New York City on Thursday.

The “America’s Best Dance Crew” judge rocked long hair and a pink adidas tracksuit while debuting two new tracks. “If you’re on the Internet, I’m sure you know what’s been going on with my career, people tryna dog me, disrespect. But that’s all right ’cause I’m a black girl and I rock,” she told the audience. “You know when the haters wanna talk and be disrespectful, I actually wrote this song before the radio interview happened and all that stuff. Basically this song is [about] they gon’ say what they gon’ say and they gon’ do what they gon’ do ’cause I’ma do me.”

Lil Mama gets dolled up in the Phil Lee-directed video for her mixtape single “Scrawberry,” which samples Special Ed’s “I Got It Made.” The pint-sized raptress dons a variety of colorful wigs and outfits as she performs in a miniature dollhouse, paying homage to her role model MC Lyte with her quick rhymes.

Lil Mama may be planning a move to Paris, but for now she’s sticking to “NY NY LA LA.” The spunky New Yorker mixes East Coast bang with West Coast slang on her brand new single, a funky old school jam featuring a verse from Cali kingpin Snoop Dogg, who raps, “In the past I had a little drama, but now I’m back with Lil Mama.”

“Snoop is like family. He really embraced me. That’s my guy right there,” the 21-year-old femcee told Rap-Up.com. “It’s always a pleasure and he’s really busy, as far as music is concerned, so for him to take the time out to work with me on my record was an absolute pleasure.”

Lil Mama is bringing the East and West Coasts together. The New Yorker has hooked up with West Coast kingpin Snoop Dogg for a new collaboration.

The record called “NY NY LA LA” is set to debut in the coming days. “Me and Snoop got together and reworked ‘New York, New York’ for L.A.,” the “America’s Best Dance Crew” judge tells Rap-Up.com. “We reworked it, representing East and West Coast and all of America.”

The 21-year-old femcee, who made her debut three years ago with VYP: Voice of the Young People, says working with Tha Doggfather was a breeze. “Snoop is like family. He really embraced me. That’s my guy right there. It’s always a pleasure and he’s really busy, as far as music is concerned, so for him to take the time out to work with me on my record was an absolute pleasure.”

While she is releasing new music, the free agent has no immediate plans to put out a full album. “I don’t know about another album,” adds Mama. “Taking it one day at a time.”

Is Lil Mama hanging up the mic? Rap-Up TV caught up with the 21-year-old rapper at this weekend’s MTV Movie Awards, where she hinted at her departure from music. “I’m just living my life. I’m about to move to Paris. I don’t even know about music anymore,” said the “America’s Best Dance Crew” judge, who recently released her new single “On & On & On.”

She also shared her thoughts on fellow femcee Nicki Minaj, a recent guest on “ABDC.” “She’s talented and she’s doing her thing and she has her path and I wish her the best. God bless her.”

Lil Mama has been keeping busy as a judge on “America’s Best Dance Crew,” but she returns to the mic with a new song “On & On & On.” The Voice of the Young People wastes no time putting her competitors in their place. “I met a lot girls tryna stop my flow/ Met a lot of girls tryna stop my dough/ Stop my flow, no you can’t do,” raps the 21-year-old, who teased of more new music on the way.

It’s been a minute since we’ve seen Lil’ Mama, but the “Lip Gloss” rapper popped up for a performance at Chris Brown’s “All Black Christmas Extravaganza” at Webster Hall in NYC on Thursday night, looking grown up with a short pixie haircut. Breezy, who hosted the holiday gig, was snapped getting down to Mama’s music from the balcony.

Lil’ Mama spent her Thanksgiving volunteering in her hometown at the New York City Rescue Mission on Thursday (Nov. 26). The apron-wearing rapper served up meals to those in need at the homeless shelter.

MTV aired a special on the VMAs entitled “What You Didn’t Know,” which showed Beyoncé trying to stop Lil’ Mama from crashing the stage during Jay-Z’s “Empire State of Mind” performance with Alicia Keys. But not even Mrs. Carter could hold her back.
